solving an equation!

This equation is quite simple and i dont have a clue why im doing it wrong
its
2t-10=-t-1
so i added t
3t-10=-1
added one
3t=-9
so
t=-3

but the answer is three so what have i done wrong? :confused:
i bet its something really obvious :colonhash:

EDIT: sorted thanks :smile:

it shouldn't be -9 but 9 in the penultimate line. :smile:

aha thanks :colonhash: :smile: im so silly lol

2t-10 = -t-1

3t-10 = -1

3t = 9

3 = 9/3

i have another question...lol :colondollar:
a bit more ASsy ha
y^-3/4=27
so i diddd
(y^-3/4)^-4/3 (i thought -3/4 x -4/3 would give 1 :confused: ) = 27^-4/3
so y = cubed root 27 = 3
then 3^-4
=1/81
but the answer is 1/64?

ahhhh :frown: im guessing i went wrong somewhere in the bold bit)

You are right, y=1/81.

(1/64)^(-3/4) = 22.627...

y^-3/4=27

1/(y^3/4)=27

y^3/4=1/27

y^3=(1/27)^4

y=sqrt3(((1/27)^4))

y=1/81 :smile:

3t-10=-1
added one
3t=-9

3t-10=-1
Add 1 to both sides = 3t-9=0 (not 3t=-9)
Add 9 to both sides = 3t=9
9/3 = 3
