Hello! I'm applying for history

Course: International Management (Japan & Year Abroad)

Entry requirements: AAB (already got an A in French :smile: )

Currently studying: Maths, Spanish and Japanese

I'm also applying for Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield but SOAS is where I really want to go, I loved it at the open day. :smile:
Course: History of art, archaeology and social anthropology

I'm an international student doing the french baccalaureate, my predicted grade is 16 and the entry requirement is about 14.

Also applied for UCL, Cambridge, Durham and Edinburgh.

Just doing a bit of research and a bit daunted that SOAS doesn't seem to get back to people until about later December at the earliest D: Oh well..

I applied on the 7th and I've heard nothing, neither has anyone else I know that has applied. I've heard that they are usually quite slow with their selection process so try not to worry too much!

I'm posting this because I saw the above.

I received an email from them about half an hour ago thanking me for my application. I applied on 20th September.

Course: Social Anthropology
Entry requirements: AAA
Currently studying: Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Economics
Predictions: AAAB (no A* here, estimate only)
Other uni choices: Cambridge, LSE, two Scottish schools. (all AAA/AAB requirements haha oh dear.)

Entry requirements: High School Diploma with GPA of 3.0; Scores of at least 600 in the 3 SAT Reasoning Tests (or SATI), or 1800 combined OR ACT with a minimum 26 out of 36. Plus SAT Subject Tests (or SATI) in three or four subjects at 600+ or Grade 4 in two but preferably three Advanced Placement tests
Currently studying : Graduated already, have all my SAT and AP scores (AB Calculus, English Lang, US Government, World History, Biology E, US History, Math IIc)
Predictions: (Achieved) 3.87 unweighted GPA, 2170 SAT, 444 AP, 800-700-640-630 SAT II
Other uni choices: Oxford, Leicester, Westminster, East Anglia, St. Andrews (Direct Application)

I actually received two emails from SOAS today for some strange reason. Both say the same thing but were sent several hours apart! At any rate I'm just glad to finally have had my application acknowledged :smile:

I had this as well, about 6 hours apart or something but exactly the same email? Are you applying for BA Japanese by any chance?

Entry requirements: 34 IB points and 5, 5, 5 at Higher Level

Currently studying: English, Biology, Visual Arts, Maths, History, French

Predictions: 36 points and 6, 6, 6 at HL

Other uni choices: UCl, The Courtauld Institute of Art, Goldsmiths, UCA

Haha same, I was trying desparately to spot the difference in the emails and then I was like...oh wait, they're identical :L. Awesome :biggrin: Is SOAS your first choice? :smile:

Also, I'm glad it appeared to be everyone that had the two emails, and not just me D:
