Thing to remember guys/gals don't pick the university on the accommodation over the course. Sure the accommodation has to be comfortable to live in but you are only going to be living in Uni halls for 1 year unless you have a scholarship or similar reason for staying in halls. In your 2nd and 3rd years you will be living in the town so picking any university on first year accommodation is in my opinion a bad idea.

    Saying that, it's your choice....

There are many more than 8!! Rosser is all ensuite as is Clarendon which is for post grads. Alexandra hall also has some ensuites too. Most rooms though do share facilities. Those with unconditional offers will get first pickings but looking at TSR from last year, its not impossible to get a room there.

Have to agree that the place would be perfect if the accommodation was better.
Oh that makes me feel better, because I hold an unconditional offer with them when do accommodation bookings roughly open?

I've applied for Software Engineering but I'm thinking of asking how easy it would be to switch to Computer Science should I want to later on. I got the impression by reading there would be more programming involved with SE looking at the info on the site but reading around more on the profession I'm not so sure there would be any more . I have a mate in college that's applied for Computer Science but it kinda feels like we're the only ones :P

It's probably easier to switch the course before it starts rather than switching in the middle of the year, then you'll have to catch up on a lot of things.

As far as I can tell from the modules on the site from both options are the same which is the case for my other uni choices as well. That's why I'm leaving it until the open day to find out a little more about it and that this is the only one of my options where i have SE instead of CS

Oh okay, open day is not that far away. I feel you dawg.

I am not going to the open day because I am not travelling 10 hours in total (to and back) in my mum's car. She is one of the worst drivers in the world.

SE and CS have a common first year, so switching at any point during that first year shouldn't be an issue at all.

Oh wow I don't blame you then I don't like long trips like that in a car. Why don't you try something like a train instead? That has to be alot quicker xD

I have to be honest, the idea of robotics is slowly drawing me in . It's one of the things i'll be looking at specificly when I go up

Marketing. I'm all business minded, did applied business studies at GCSE's, doing economics at A Levels so the next step is to specialise. Marketing is what I'm good at, I like getting people to spend and looking for ways to make people think my way.

Good luck with that. I heard economics at A level is quite hard, 'to what extent do you agree that this is true'? (typical business a level question).

You sound like very clever lol. Mmm, I'll probably be the dumbest guy in the course...

Thats not a problem, first year is common between all courses in the department, and there is no AI stuff until 2nd/3rd year...and AI & Robotics is clearly the best course

Aha I'm not, just when I went I was impressed - even if it did look like a little basement :L I wasn't 100% sure if I wanted to do that so I just applied for straight CS. Might change, we'll see. Is the first year like A-level computing ?

Hahaha, yeah a typical Economics question aswell. I find it really hard but it's slowly gettting through. The graphs are the things that get me, there's a million and one different graphs that look the same but with different labels or slightly different angled lines. Then the lines are called curves when they don't curve so that confuses me. Then there's the theory...which isn't that bad if it's logical but some of it isn't. So yeah, it's hard.

Thanks for your wishes, good luck with whatever subjects you're doing!

Okay, so, please tell me there's some party people applying for Aber this year?
I'm scared that everyone is going to wear anoraks and draw castles.

Sorry, just a dream I had.

So, please tell me there's someone out there who likes to drink their liver under the table at least 7 times a week lol?

Yeah the night life aspect does worry me a little as well because i'm always up for a drink =|. It still confuses me how it can be rated so high for student satisfaction when there doesn't seem to be anything there outside the union (Then again I haven't looked into it as much as my other choices)
