How are people getting on with the Salford interviews? What a long wait, it seems Salford is one of the last ones to let people know!!

Random question... does anyone know of any decent textbooks that i could buy beforehand that might be useful? x
    Hello!

Im a current OT student in my final year. Some of the textbooks i tend to use a lot are -

Occupational therapy and mental health - Jennifer Creek
Foundations for practice in occupational theray - Edward Duncan
Occupational therapy and physical dysfunction (cant remember the author)

If you're really keen you could try reading some articles from the british journal of occupational therapy, could probably find some online.

You might be best to wait until you start though, maybe your course uses a lot of different textbooks to mine!

I don't mind answering any other questions you might have about studying OT generally if you want.

    Aw thankyou so much! haha.

How have you found the course overall? Like compared to when you first started and now? Do you know whether you want to try and get a job in a special field (eg mental health) or something? xx

Had an interview for Occupational Therapy at Sheffield Hallam beginning of Feb but still not heard anything from them. Has anybody heard following their interviews as getting a bit worried now as we were told we would probably hear by the end of Feb.

Yeah i've really enjoyed it although some bits have been challenging! (I'm currently struggling through my dissertation so now is probably not the best time to ask lol). I really liked that there was placements right from the start so you could see what it was like to be an actual OT, whereas like some other healthcare courses you don't have any placements until your second year.

I would like to work in learning disabilities but it can be difficult to get a job in a specialist field straight away so i'll probably end up getting a rotational post in a hospital or something to get some experience first.

Ohh god. good luck with your dissertation, dreading doing that :unimpressed: ! I'm looking forward to the placements.. at the moment i think i want to try and work with children or learning disabilities, but i want to do placements in all areas obviously incase i change my mind!

Wish you luck with finishing your degree and getting a job after! x

Hey, just a wee heads up on Jordanstown. Offers won't be made until the 2nd week in April, that's from Ulster themselves. Good luck, I did crap on the HPAT so I won't be getting in lol

I got a score of 60 and percentile of 65 and have no idea if it's good enough for O.T.
