Carer - 120 points in a year = full time?

Hi,
Am I right in thinking that 120 points is classed as full time study? I'm an at home carer and believe I'm not allowed to study full time, as it would stop my carers benefit. I'm intending to do 90 credits, which I presume is ok.

It's the equivalent of full-time study, but generally doesn't count as it as you're not required to be in attendance anywhere. It definitely doesn't count for things like council tax, which sounds like it might be similar. If you're doing 90 though, that's certainly not full-time.

The definition on the DirectGov site is:

you're in full-time education with 21 hours or more a week of supervised study - or doing a course described as full-time by the college or establishment providing it

so sounds like you'd be clear even with 120 as it's not supervised study.

OU study is never classed as full time. However, you might have problems fitting that much in around your other commitments.

To be honest the only reason I'm trying 90 points in a year is the new financial rules, otherwise I be studying at a snail's pace.
