I've applied for Bangor (got a conditional offer from there) Aberystwyth, Stirling & Aberdeen.. I think Chester is going to be my Firm because I highly doubt I'll get an offer from Aberdeen. Is it? I haven't had a chance to get across to any open days, stupid Irish Sea haha I'm sure you will get an offer, my grades weren't the best and my school was messing around with my predicted grades and I still got one.. My fingers are crossed for you, Chester & Dundee Where else have you applied?
Ahh cool! Yeah, mine weren't the best either! What were your grades? And I've applied to Leeds, Aston, Hull, Dundee and Chester . Hoping that Leeds or Aston will be my firm and Dundee or Chester my insurance!

Aw man, I got BCDE (French, German, Physics & Maths) and dropped the D. So frustrating because my lowest grade is the one I reaallly don't need at all for whatever degree I do haha. Predicted BBC I think, not actually sure. I saw your grades in your sig spoilery bit, well done! Oo cool! I wanted to apply for Dundee but they only do French WITH something and not with German so it was a miss unfortunately. Chester got back to me really quickly so hopefully you get a final answer soon!

Ah coool! Yeah I got BBDD at AS Level (German, English Language, Economics and Maths) Dropped maths and the D in economics was 2 marks off a C! Annoying..

Predicted ABC. Yeahh I hope I get an offer at Chester! How far was you from a B in German?

I wish I had dropped maths but I couldn't have kept Physics on for another year.. Teacher and I didn't get along one bit so I hated last of year of school completely and obvs it shined through in exams! Oh well. Aw man, that's so annoying! Could you not get it remarked?

ABC is superb, well done again! I hope you do too I thought they were going to wait until January so I was really surprised when I got an email on my phone saying my track had changed, I was expecting a rejection from somewhere. I don't think I was too far away.. But I'm resitting the paper in June to keep myself safe from dropping back to a C for A2. The exam this year was so ridiculous.. I can't even remember what the translation was about but it was SO obscure. Is your A prediction for German, yeah?

Ahhh that's not good! Yeah I could would never dream of taking Physics (Cause i can't do it). lol. i've heard it's reaaaaaally hard.

Yeah I'm pretty pleased with my predictions. I got 75% in AS German, so was a strong B - I think I was about 7 marks off an A (5 in writing exam and just 2 in the speaking). But I am re-sitting the written exam next summer because I completely messed up on it, so hopefully I'll be able to pull my AS grade up to an A with that. (and my german will be a lot better by next summer so i'll pick up quite a few marks I think). Yeah the A prediction is in German.

I stupidly chose Maths & Physics because I wanted to do Engineering originally then realised that there was an alternative route via apprenticeship I could have gone with and didn't need either of them to do it.. But like my heart lies with languages so that all completely backfired haha. Physics is a joke post GCSE, like you need to have a completely maths orientated brain and if not, you won't understand a lot of it.. That's what my school told me at least and I definitely lived up to that.

Your predictions are good, my school were messing mine up something shocking but they've obviously changed their mind if I'm getting offers. I think you'll get it up to an A CCEA were supposedly really bad with their marking this year so my teacher got back the papers to see how harsh they were with it and is writing them a letter of complaint haha. I lost most of my marks in the oral unfortunately but I'm unsure about redoing it.. Might just opt for the written paper and get the marks up heaps, do not know! Your German does sound fab if you're predicted an A for this coming year, I'm impressed! Do many in your school do German? Only 4 at mine ;o

Yeah I love languages too (I was going to do a triple languages degree at first but i chose german/german and business instead!). Ahh right, yeah i'd hate to do the oral again (i was properrrrrr nervous for it but it went ok). I actually did better in my oral and my written (although im better at writing than speaking) - strange! So that's why im re-sitting the AS written exam to hopefully get an A in it . Yeah my german is ok, i don't think i'll get an A but there is a chance. definitely a B though i think. And there's about 10 in my class I think.

EDIT: JUST GOT AN OFFER FROM CHESTER!!

I was going to apply to Bangor for a triple language degree but realised that wouldn't be the best move and I'm glad I didn't now! Glad to see there are actually other language lovers about hahaha. I don't know why I'm doing my French one again, I think my teacher just went on about it so much that she sold it to be a good thing and I gave in.. No way about the German one though. Yeah, you're sensible there, you'll get the marks up which'll help you heaps with your final grade Be positive and hopeful! Wooow only 4 in mine.. It's so offputting because it's so, um, concentrated haha.

WELL DONE CONGRATS!! I'm so pleased for you! !

Well done on your offer from Chester- I'm unconditional as I sat my a-levels two years ago, haha. It's a good job you didn't go for the triple language course at Chester. They cancelled it due to having not gained enough interest and so it played hell with the few of us that did apply for it. I'm confirmed for French and Spanish instead though- I can't wait. I haven't read the rest of this thread yet; have you recieved all your offers and/ or decided?

Good luck with results to everyone!
