History A2 Essay writing help!!

Did my first essay a week a go and was given it back from my teacher as a C :angry:
I knew my essay was slightly rushed but nevertheless i was annoyed with myself and am redoing it at the mo to get at least a B (he gave 1 A to our class and mostly B's).

Im aiming for an A* this year having achieved 91/100 average at AS with 98/100 in the Russian paper (which is what we study this year :biggrin:), but i feel like my essay skills are letting me down. Getting 98/100 last year was mainly down to throwing up a mass of info/quotes on the topic on the day simply because i loved learning about Russia in the first place (Stalin :wink:) , something which I cant do at A2.

So just a request for any general A2 History essay writing tips on structure, flow etc. I know to be concise but how concise?
