Re: Burned hole in G-Star Hoody! :(It's subjective. Opinion not fact, I can't be incorrect and you can't be correct(Original post by Tahooper)
Yes, but if you think those brands are chavvy you would be incorrect.

Re: Burned hole in G-Star Hoody! :(Every brand you've mentioned there is in a similar category to G-Star. None of those brands are renound for creating good quality or good looking clothing and anyone with a reasonable sense of fashion would stay away from them. The only reason these brands sell is because they get marketed more and (in recent years) due to the tendancy for chavs to think over-branded clothing = worth paying more.(Original post by Tahooper)
Diesel, Calvin Klein, Firetrap, French Connection, and Jack & Jones (to name a few) are all chav-wear?
So yes, I would say they're all chavvy brands. -
Re: Burned hole in G-Star Hoody! :(Take it to a dry cleaners, they'll patch it up really well!(Original post by scotland369)
After several weeks of saving, I decided that I could do with a new hoody and felt like splashing out. A trip into town and £60 down the drain later, I'm sitting on the couch with a fancy new G-Star, oblivious to the fact there's a candle burning on the coffee table.
"Take that off! You'll get pasta sauce on it" warns mummy dearest. So I take the hoody off and dump it on the coffee table. Why do I smell burning?
The hole burned on the sleeve is only 2cm big but nonetheless noticeable. Is there anything that can be done to salvage it? Its going to be a while before I can afford a replacement... -

Sadly no, but I live in Iceland. Björk is interesting, I can't say that I care much for her music but she's certainly a character. She has a house ten minutes walk away from where I live. -

Personally, I'd do this, it's what I was going to suggest. If they argue, just say that you weren't paying attention when you bought it, and you didn't think that the store was the kind of place where the customers had to check every item of faults before buying them. Say it angrily.(Original post by ritchie888)
Play the 'I just bought this hoodie and theres a massive hole in it. I WANT TO SEE THE MANAGER
' card. Will definitely work, customer is always right, etc.

If worn with smart jeans and non-Nike/Adidas trainers/shoes that t-shirt would look non-chavvy.
What about:

or

Are they chavvy? -
Re: Burned hole in G-Star Hoody! :(Diesel has all the signs of a chavvy brand. Most of their clothing is overpriced, poor quality, over-branded and only sells because it gets marketed. Their jeans are especially poor and are nowhere near as good quality as other brands costing the same.
Levi's jeans aren't chavvy because some of their jeans are reasonable quality (especially Vintage range), average price and not overbranded with crappy designs. People would still buy Levi's jeans if they didn't advertise as much. -
Re: Burned hole in G-Star Hoody! :(
But IMO levis are still overpriced considering they're an a mid to entry level brand in the US - it's not too hard to find a pair of 511s for $30 over there.
I think french connection is making a recovery in terms of style. If you look at the more recent french connection lines it's no longer clothing with fcuk printed all over it. -
Re: Burned hole in G-Star Hoody! :(Yeah I agree, the Levi's basic range is fairly average and £80 would be too much for a pair. When they're in a sale and around £40 they're good value compared to other options in the UK. The 'Levi's Vintage' range has some good stuff from what I've seen and quality is decent.(Original post by goodposter)

I haven't seen anything by FC for a while but I've just checked their website and they've certainly got a very reasonable line of clothing this year. Maybe that's why Republic have stopped stocking them on their website.Last edited by tsnake23; 29-09-2011 at 21:49.
