Ordering Equipment (Laptop, printer, etc)

Hey,
I'm a little paranoid that I'm going to do something wrong, so I thought I'd ask here.
I (FINALLY) got my DSA entitlement letter through after 2 months of waiting, and was quite surprised to see that it didn't outline exactly which specialist equipment were authorized... It just says under the 2nd column

"Equipment from [blah company] Quote number:[Blah], total cost [cost]"

I'm guessing they have already 'ordered' all my equipment and all I have to do is ring the company, quote the number etc and I'm sorted?


One more question... I also get the difference in cost between a non-ensuite and en-suite room back. My only problem is in the halls that I am in, there is no non-ensuite accommodation. Its all ensuite! Will it matter if I use the price of a non-ensuite room from a different halls on campus as evidence of the difference? :s-smilie:

You'll have to OK your plan with the DSA team regarding accommodation.
You should have a copy of your needs assessment report with quotes from a handful of companies in there. find the companies quote that student finance have selected and listed on the quote will be the equipment you will get.

Get in touch with the supplier, its not been ordered for you, YOU have to order it and you may have to post, fax or email a copy of the quote to them and they will arrange a date and time with you to deliver and set up your equipment

Different parts of the country operate in different ways.

I got a list of eqpt and the name of the supplier. There was no choice and I didn't have to do anything other than arrange a delivery date and tuition dates.

Yes, but OP shoud still have at least one quote with a list of equipment on it that finance have now approved in their assessment report which will tell them what the company will be providing.

They should have access to the information about what equipment they will be getting.
