I've been playing guitar for about a year now and I was thinking that it would be good if I could play with anyone? As a way to improve and just meet other musicians.

When I think about it I don't actually know anyone that plays an instrument...

    soooooooooo

I used to play the piano but stopped. Did you check out if your university had any Music related society? I know Aston has one...

Try Rock Soc, they might still have an annual jam night after Christmas. LUMSoc (Live and unsigned music) has a big crowd of musicians. JABSoc is full of musicians although mostly very talented music students.

There's lots of music going on under the surface. The Free Love Club would be a good place to get started.
