Me too I've studied for a couple of years but i'm still only at a really basic level so i'l definately be starting from the beginning again at uni.

I've also applied to Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham and University of Central Lancashire.
So far I've recieved offers from everywhere except Leeds and Sheffield (my top 2, grrr!!)

Where have you applied and have you recieved any offers yet?

but the grades they are asking for is AAB which is higher than what I thought it would be (though it would be ABB) :\

Still so happy to have the offer, anyone else got one yet?

Yes I got one too ! For Chinese (Modern and Classical) ! I have to get 14 points at the French bac, including 13 in English complement so it's pretty easy !
    I'm soooo happy !!

From my experience, in my year there are some BBC students, some internationals, some home students. No-one who's like actually /from/ China/Taiwan. I'm a 4th year.

I just got two conditionals from Leeds:

    Chinese and History AAB
    Chinese Studies ABB

I'm surprising about the offer for Chinese Studies, considering it says ABC or BBB on their website. Ahh well, just means I don't have an extremely safe insurance. I think I'm going to firm Sheffield over Leeds though!

As a bit of comparison, people doing Chinese at Sheffield are better at speaking, but people at Leeds are better at reading and writing. Just the way the course is focussed. And it's becoming a much more competitive course! It used to be BBC...

Everyones getting offers from Leeds for ABB, mine was AAB I was wanting to put Leeds as an insurance choice aswell... or just a low first choice as the course looks really good and loads of people recomend Leeds to me for studying chinese!

Well if you can meet the offer, firm it... as an idea of ability, the GCHQ Chinese level example test? I can understand it without a problem (both reading and listening). That's where you should be, if not better, by 4th year. It's a good course!

I got an AAB offer. Sucks but I want to go to Leeds so I'm definitely going to be working for it.
