Which has a more beautiful campus--Oxford or Cambridge?

I'll give you that: the gardens look nice. But whenever I see Robinson I always wonder if they just ran out of materials or if there was this one loony architect who couldn't get enough of red brick. And Long Court literally looks like a prison.
I still contend that Pembroke's nicer.

I went there for a summer school, and it was HORRIBLE. Put me off Cambridge actually a little...

Re: Which has a more beautiful campus--Oxford or Cambridge?First picture is Pembroke College. Second is either St John's or Kings (I think it's St John's). The library is Trinity's Wren Library. Hope that helps...(Original post by Insanity514)
I'm still applying to Cambridge
Just not Churchill (lol)
Those pics are beautiful, whereabouts is that library and what college is in the 1st and 2nd picture?
So what college are you applying to? -

Nice. I like the gate. Richard Ayoade went there...
Are you at Cambridge or applying there by any chance? -
Re: Which has a more beautiful campus--Oxford or Cambridge?Applying. IB student out in France though, so I haven't been able to visit; still, out of the colleges I've researched, I liked the look of Pembroke the most. Thus, I shall apply there(Original post by Insanity514)

Looks rather cheerful and seasidey tbh.
It does look rather like a row of bathing huts ; one might expect an Italian man with a monkey on his shoulder to stroll by offering to take your picture -
Re: Which has a more beautiful campus--Oxford or Cambridge?
I think Cambridge is the nicer town generally. Even if the buildings balanced out, Cambridge is much more of a 'university town' and there are colleges EVERYWHERE. Oxford has lots of other stuff and is a town in its own right. Not only that, the colleges are more spread apart at Oxford, which makes for an overall less satisfying walk. :P
That said, Oxford is still absolutely beautiful. -

Ive spent a lot of time at both and I would say Cambridge is superior in the summer - it relies on its greenery. Oxford has more charm in the winter because of the 'city feel'; especially in snow.

Re: Which has a more beautiful campus--Oxford or Cambridge? As an eyesore might I suggest the Thom Building at Oxford(Original post by Joinedup)
I love the smell of splitting hairs in the morning
I'd like to see the biggest eyesore from each. Must have been some soviet influenced concrete monsters thrown up in the 60s

Nuffield has a touch of Moscow comes to Bourton-on-the-Water about it

Re: Which has a more beautiful campus--Oxford or Cambridge? That pictures of Churchill college though which is one of, if the not the ugliest of all the colleges.(Original post by Insanity514)

To walk around the actual town, Cambridge is more beautiful than Oxford. But if you like a bigger city with shops etc, then pick oxford.
Just not Churchill (lol)
