Whats the difference between business information systems ans business information technology?
I'm interested in three course .One of them is Business Information Technology the other two are Business Information Systems but the course seems similar. Are they pretty much the same?

The first one looks like a really good deal there particularly the year 3 that you spend in paid employment. Making money and getting experience for the subject you're studying and the degree isn't even finished yet! Sounds great to me.

They are VERY diffrent... Business Information SYSTEMS (key word) is all about Input, Process, Output on all the diffrent types of technology used from mobile phones used by staff to the latest software the business needs. Business Information Technology is much more generalised and is about genreal practice of IT in businesses. If you are looking at becoming a system analyist then the first one is most defineatly the one to do, however if your not intrested in that you would be better of doing the second one. BUT note that this is not like doing IT and Business it is Informtion Technology IN Businesses!

If your looking at the second one I would recommend you look at this:

http://www.e-skills.com/education/degrees-itmb/universities/

It is a very succesful course that has a exceptionaly high rate of employement after 12 months, and it is offered at unis' all over the country of all diffrent academic levels. Is created by the official organisation of IT in the U.K and works very close with big companys such as BT, IBM, Sainsbury and many more. Well worth a look.

I was also looking into the ITMB course in Northcumbria but the modules are very similar to the Business Information systems that they have there aswell the first year id the same . I'm not actually sure if I do want to be a systems analyst as I've not tried it IT consultant maybe. The course seems great. I don't know if I want a full on IT or a business course so this seems like the best option a cross between the two. I don't know if I'd make a good manager though .

Would information technology in business be like how they apply the technology for business use?
then the other is just a business and it joined course really?

I'll probably apply to all of those courses anyway and then decide.

If you are looking at becoming a IT consultant both courses would be fine, however I would recommend the second one or the ITMB course.

In terms of management it obviously will play a role in the course however I would imagine it does not play a very key one. I would say it would be mainly focus on IT and Business with basic simple more communication skills rather than management skills.

Both courses will be about IT in Businesses HOWEVER the first one will be much more divided between IT and Businss as the second one and the ITMB would be much more of a blend between the two. Also to not students who took the IYMB course at Exeter last year 100% were in employement after 6 months.

Yeah I'm interested in both course . I think I'll go for the ITMB hopefully I really like that course. Then keep the other as a insurance , I'd be happy to do either of those course.
All I need is the grades now.
