Actually, I think they are very fast at the rejecting. I applied for my programme last year and got rejected in a week. So I retook my GMAT and applied again this year. 4 weeks so far and still under consideration.
Yes, that's actually the same thing I noticed with last year's admissions. Seems that they try to lower the staple, then go to the qualifying ones.

For an American student such as myself, its interesting that you consider these fees "horiffic"

    They're quite good for us!

Yes. At the LSE Donations form you can, if donating more than 1M pounds, clearly state your name of yourself and your cousin. It seems to work, historically.

So basically if we do not get rejected by Christmas, then we can hope for the best ?
    (hopefully)

Don't think so. It might be that the rejections communicated via this forum are because of a too low GPA (e.g. below the treshold) and that's the first filter of course.

    HEY GUYS!!

So, I just got a status notification that they cannot make a decision on my file at this time, and so they're forwarding it to my second choice and I've been placed on a waiting list. They said in approx. 6 weeks they'll pass my file back to the selectors who will make a final decision...

... anyone else get anything like this????

I was in the same position last year. I was waitlisted for 14 weeks and then rejected. I hope it works out for you though but u most probably have a long wait ahead.
