My application was submitted this week, and 'm worried already. the wait begins for me.I'm applying for msc eme and msc econ 2-yr. Here's my profile, could someone evaluate it?

    Undergrad: B.E. Engg (university of Delhi-India) 74%
gre: verbal 90th percentile, Quant(99th percentile) awa 4.5/6
Research experience: I did a project on time series analysis at Institute of economic growth( a govt. body) and interned at Reserve Bank of India(india's central bank) under their young scholar scheme(they select 150 students from all over India) .I also did an independent study which got accepted at a international conference. My maths grades are 81%, 70% though I messed up one of my semesters due to personal reasons. I've tried to write a good SoP, taking in help from some lse alumni.
LOR:2 professors who taught me and they can vouch for my quant abilities, one from mentor at the reserve bank.

I'm just scared that I've submitted my app now!
Best of luck to everyone, I guess offers will start pouring in from january!

Usually offers are pretty standardized and they match their minimum requirements. Americans get a 3.5 GPA, I got a 106/110 (the minimum requirement from Italians) and so did all my other Italian friends I know at LSE, usually UK students get a 65-67% circa offer, nothing spectactular on average. But if one applies with not-so-high marks but promises to improve, they may impose harsher conditions. For instance, if one applies with a 65% average but predicts a high 2:1, they may impose a 67% which is higher, but still standard.

    1) Very, it's the best place in the UK (and conversely in the world) for a career in the city. Well, along with Oxbridge of course, but LSE has more connections due to its geographical vicinity and tighter focus on economics, finance etc.

    2) I live in an LSE accomodation hall. I'm lucky cause mine is 20 mins only from School, I have my own bathroom in my room and it's not so expensive. Some others are not so good, and if you bother to look for a nice flat with other students you may end up being even better off, but I'd give it a shot to the halls. The best ones in my opinion are Butler's Wharf and Lilian Knowles.

    Oh nice that you remember!

I'm loving it at LSE: great university, very good lecturers, a lot of opportunities of any kind, and I'm making a lot of friends. The only problem is that it's overcrowded and VERY expensive, but I hope it'll turn out to be a good investment.

I'd say not, many people apply in December and still get in. From late January onwards it starts being a bit too late.

A 1st in year 1 is irrelevant I'd say. A 1st overall would be good, but it's not uncommon to have people with a 2:1 getting in IR as long as your PS and LORs are good, so good luck and don't worry as I already told you in the Cambridge thread
Thanks for the reply. I know even if I get in I have no idea how to finance it all :/

Hi guys, I applied for MSc Media and Communication just before the office closes for the holidays. With regards to submitting personal references online, I have asked one of my lecturers and she said she have already sent them in. However this does not reflect on the online tracker (Embark); the status of referer reads "Has not yet submitted" . On the other hand, I have another lecturer informing me that LSE will send them a link to upload the reference only after I have completed my application. This is where I also got confused because I thought completion means having your references in beforehand??

Appreciate any help on this. Cheers!
I applied for the same master at the beginning of December. I am hoping an answer in the next two weeks. Good luck!

As genuine as a mistake can be, it'll be seen as careless.

Well, it definitely will stand out compared to perfectly written SOPs from other students.
