Re: Worst Manager your team ever hadWell we had Shankly Paisley Fagan Dalglish, who all won shedloads.(Original post by Fusion)
The Hodgson hate amongst Liverpool fans is disproportionate - he was only there for 6 months or so. I don't know much about Souness's record there but Carragher claimed he ruined the club from their peak, which must carry some weight. Rafa failed to qualify for cl in his last season so there is some rationale behind of Roy taking over a sinking ship with all sorts of backroom drama that wasn't his doing.
Then Souness took us down to about 6th.
Then Evans got us playing incredible football and Houllier establishes us as top4/5 and won us 5 trophies at least.
Then Rafa won the CL.
So Hodgson is not exactly competing with failures except Souness. -

Well, i'll chip in, what the hay... for Middlesbrough:
Strachan. Honestly, all you ever hear about him was that he refused to take money when he left middlesbrough, but that is because there is NOTHING else good to say about him. Granted Southgate presided over our relegation, but I dont really blame him as much as the owners and board. -
Re: Worst Manager your team ever had
As a Stevenage fan, I doubt anybody actually really cares, but in my lifetime it was Wayne Turner. Not long previously we had won the Conference but denied promotion, we lost most of our squad through that but we were still among the best in the non-league. Turner replaces Paul Fairclough, and six months later we were rooted to the bottom of the Conference.
Boro replaced him with Graham Westley, who got us up to midtable in the second half, but it took Westley's first spell, further building under Mark Stimson, and a poor six months under Peter Taylor before Westley's second spell finally saw us win the Conference again.
So thanks for that, Turner, wherever the hell you are now. -
Re: Worst Manager your team ever hadWhat about Samson Siasia? Can't believe you haven't qualified for the 2012 Nations Cup...(Original post by 419)
Berti Vogts (for Nigeria)

What about Samson Siasia? Can't believe you haven't qualified for the 2012 Nations Cup...
Siasia is a good coach. He guided the u20s to final of their w/c and the olympic team to the final where they lost to a messi effective argentina team. Played good football in both competition, free scoring against good team.............
He's just inherited a team full of egos and he's made it clear that he is having none of their BS leading to many fall outs. This coupled with the fact that we were always playing catch up when he took over midway through the campaign.
Still should've qualified but I'm shedding no tears, kinda happy about it. -
Re: Worst Manager your team ever hadI suppose it could be the kick in the backside that they need. There's no doubting the talent within the Nigerian talent pool, but they have really underperformed in the last few years.(Original post by 419)

Fingers-crossed he can sort them out! -
Re: Worst Manager your team ever hadThe same Gary Megson who got you the furthest you had ever been in Europe?(Original post by CD2112)
Haha yeh Megson was shocking. Only marginally worse than Sammy Lee though.
Granted he didn't bond with the Bolton fans and his style of play is negative.
I've talked to a few and Owen Coyle seems the worst in their minds, any thoughts? -
Re: Worst Manager your team ever hadHe should be commended. The owners that took Liverpool to £300 million in debt, near relegation and administration. Should never have been sacked tbh. Some right pricks in charge of that club in recent years.(Original post by Leeshieus)
Benitez dug his own grave at Liverpool. I was sad to see him go but his constant public battles with the owners unsettled everybody at the club, perhaps it was for the best at the time but I would love to have him back in the future. -
Re: Worst Manager your team ever hadCommended for six years in charge and no league title?(Original post by Jim-Jam)
