Re: GIRLS WHO WEAR MAKE UP : How different is your made up vs plain face ?
I know girls who go for the drag queen look every day and look like different people without make-up. There's also the girls who do the natural look but are actually wearing a ton of make-up. It's a bit surreal.
Too much effort for me. Can't be faffed with that contouring business. I wear make-up to conceal/enhance/define (i.e. mascara, brow pencil, concealer) and am a bit obsessed with red lippy, but that's about it. -

OMG, the makeup artist in the first video is Promise Phan and she's so bloody amazing! You should check out her other celeb transformations, as she turns herself into people like Lil Wayne, Angelina Jolie, Katy Perry, Kate Middleton, etc. Pixiwoo in the second video is also amazing!

To answer the question, my plain face is just that; plain. Oh, and spotty from my acne
. Foundation covers the spots and my made up face can vary any number of many ways depending on what look I choose, like whether I wear eyeshadow or not and what colour, whether I wear lipstick/lipgloss or not and what colour, whether I put eyeliner on just the top of my eyes or all around, etc.

Re: GIRLS WHO WEAR MAKE UP : How different is your made up vs plain face ?
Once I went in to town with no make up on and bumped in to a few friends who said I looked ill (they didn't realise I wasn't wearing make up), and my ex would say the same. I think it affects my eyes the most as I love my concealer and mascara! But I don't wear much on a day to day basis so it doesn't make much of a difference, or so I think!

Re: GIRLS WHO WEAR MAKE UP : How different is your made up vs plain face ?
Not very different... I rarely wear makeup, and if so its just eyeliner and mascara because I learnt a while back that if people love you when you are all dressed up and flinch when you are not... well, its not a good sign!
I would rather just be me, becuase when I wake up in the morning thats all I am.... no lies -
Re: GIRLS WHO WEAR MAKE UP : How different is your made up vs plain face ?
I look older when I have eye makeup on, they look tiny without at least curling my eyelashes. Face wise I guess my skin looks more even or brighter if my skin is dull in general.
I guess I wear a lot of makeup but I like to think I'm quite good at applying so it doesn't look too different from my real looks -
Re: GIRLS WHO WEAR MAKE UP : How different is your made up vs plain face ?
The frist video girl is very very good at make up.
It depends on the type of make I wear or how much, during the day I wear blusher, dots of white liner in the corners of my eyes and eyebrown pencil and look alot better simply because my eyebrows are really sparse and blusher lights up my face. With night time make up I look alot hotter and sexier, but still like myself I think. I have good skin, the only thing I really wanna change with make up making my eyebrows darker and complimenting my outfits and overall look with red lipstick or eyeliner flicks or ninties style dark lips and strong brows or full on sexy smokey eyes and tanned skin, it just depends on my look for the night.Last edited by Fantaisie; 04-10-2011 at 20:57. -
Re: GIRLS WHO WEAR MAKE UP : How different is your made up vs plain face ?
Of course I look different with make up on, though it depends in what state my skin is in. Though it's always clear, if it's quite "dull and grey", then I can look very washed out.
I wear very, very natural make up though. My foundation matches my skin tone perfectly. Having said that, blush definitely lives my face up, and mascara will make a huge difference to ANYONES face. I think that's one of the biggest things that can change how a girl looks, although it's actually quite subtle, it makes a huge difference.
My boyfriends have never been shocked when I take my make up off or when I wake up, though. I've not worn make up into university before, and people were shocked when I told them I had no make up on... I do have incredibly clear skin, so that's one bonus... -
Re: GIRLS WHO WEAR MAKE UP : How different is your made up vs plain face ?
shocked at the first video.... total transformation! katy perry is a bit like that, i imagine, she always seems to wear inches of make up.
im a plain jane without make up. i think it helps to make my face look brighter, cuz im pale. bit of face powder, blush, eyebrow pencil, and mascara...take 10mins to apply and makes a big difference in how i look and feel. especially if you are having a day where you feel fed up with how you look, make up can make all the difference in helping to lift my mood when im being down on myself. dont think im unrecognisable without it though. -
Re: GIRLS WHO WEAR MAKE UP : How different is your made up vs plain face ?Try a concealer by the brand Cover FX. I dont't know if they sell it in the UK, but it's magic! I mix it with my mac concealer and set it with blot powder, and it hides the circles completely, and stays on all day.(Original post by Philbert)
Concealer hides my dark circles a little; not completely as they're pretty bad. Eye-liner and mascara open up and define my eyes. Overall, the make-up I use makes me look less tired (I like to think, anyway).
I have pretty bad red circles under my eyes, and admittedly just the concealer alone changes the contours of my face almost completely, so I don't know overall how much makeup actually changes my face. But I was once sent home from work by my boss, who thought I was seriously ill because I'd shown up without makeup. I tried to tell her it was just the way my under eyes looked without make up but she wasn't having it. Oh well, a free day off work is never a bad thing. -
Re: GIRLS WHO WEAR MAKE UP : How different is your made up vs plain face ?
What annoys me is when boys say they prefer girls with no make up, but what most of them don't realise that what they really mean to say is they prefer girls who apply make up in a natural way, rather than slapping the cement on.
Make up does make you look a lot better no doubt about it.
If you have good skin, then I admit that you look good in that area without make up. Even though I have very pale skin (it never tans for some reason) although it annoys me that I can't get a nice tan, it makes up for that by being clear and even. *touch wood*
However, a bit of blusher makes me look so much better as it highlights my cheek bones and just adds a bit of colour to faces like mine :P
Apart from that, the only thing I consider absolutely essential is mascara, when I've just done the one eye and the other eye has no mascara, the made up one looks so much better! The darker and thicker eyelashes just completely opens your eyes up and frames them. I couldn't live without my mascara!
And some lip stuff does a bloody good job too.
There's no doubt about it, make up makes you look better.Last edited by EffieFlowers; 04-10-2011 at 20:50. -
Re: GIRLS WHO WEAR MAKE UP : How different is your made up vs plain face ?
I wear foundation, powder, kohl eyeliner, liquid eyeliner and mascara every day... I guess I look different without it. Not massively though. I wear foundation because my face flushes really easily, so I'd probably look more pink without it!
I know some people who look drastically different without it. Seeing girls first thing in the morning at sixth form then on a night out is a big big change! -
Re: GIRLS WHO WEAR MAKE UP : How different is your made up vs plain face ?
I wear makeup everyday pretty much cause I look tired/ill without it.
I wear foundation to brighten my skin tone up a bit, i dye my hair from a dirty browny colour to very dark brown/black so i need it to make sure I dont look completely washed out. power gives my skin a nice smooth look and i pencil my brows in a tiny bit (NO SLUGS) to match my hair colour and to define them a little. Slugs are a no, hate that look. blusher highlights my face a bit and mascara makes me look more awake. I dont think I look majorly different without makeup it just makes me feel a lot better and makes me look like i didn't just roll out of bed after a rough night out! -
Re: GIRLS WHO WEAR MAKE UP : How different is your made up vs plain face ?
i think i can honestly say i pretty much look the same. you wouldnt struggle to recognise me, i might just look a little less bright eyed. I only really wear mascara and eyeliner and make up doesnt add to my look nearly as much as hair does. That being said, I know girls who completely transform when wearing make up its amazing! If i was as good at it as they are at it I'd consider wearing more.

Re: GIRLS WHO WEAR MAKE UP : How different is your made up vs plain face ?
I know one girl who looks like a completely different person without makeup, shockingly different...
I feel fine going out without makeup, I just feel more 'pulled together' when I wear it, I like making the effort. So I rarely go out without it. I don't think I look too different, but I do have big kinda pale blue eyes with fine blonde lashes that without eye makeup look too... round and childlike IMO. My skin's alright and I don't wear loads of base so I don't think the rest of my face looks too different! -
Re: GIRLS WHO WEAR MAKE UP : How different is your made up vs plain face ?
I think I look like me... but younger... With mascara my eyelashes pretty much touch my eyebrows (I have weirdly long ones) but without it you can hardly see them. I do think mascara makes the biggest difference

I went on medication for my skin, but before that I remember taking foundation off in front of people (sleepovers etc) used to terrify me, because foundation is amazing at hiding everything...

. Foundation covers the spots and my made up face can vary any number of many ways depending on what look I choose, like whether I wear eyeshadow or not and what colour, whether I wear lipstick/lipgloss or not and what colour, whether I put eyeliner on just the top of my eyes or all around, etc.
