The Student Room Group

worst teacher you had at school/college

who would you say has been your worst teacher , you dont have to say the name of the teacher if you dont want , you can do it if you want , but say why the person was a bad teacher

my 2 choices were both in primary , the first one which i am not going to name was this female teacher who was just really terrible , just kept shouting all the time , even made one boy cry once , and the other one was a male teacher who kept falling asleep in lessons and kept saying Good dog for some reason

Lmao. Where to begin?

My GCSE R.E. teacher was terrible. He didn't even teach, ever. He assigned us a page from the textbook and then left the room. Every single lesson :sigh:

I had an English teacher in year 9 that couldn't spell.

aaaand my year 6 teacher ended up in the local paper once I'd moved up to secondary school because it turned out that he'd been downloading child porn. He taught me for a year. :nothing:

There are more. I went to bad schools.

Probably my science teachers at secondary, they COULD NOT control the class.
At sixth form, I'd say one of my economics teachers, but luckily only had him for 1 lesson a week.
I had 1 in primary school for year 4 and 5, he scared the hell out of me when he shouted, and when you didn't get an answer right... I won't even go there  the scars

In fact, he left for 3 months and we were all happy but then he came back for the end of year 5... bad times

IT teacher in year 8 wad grumpy fat and fudgly looking
He got mad once and threw a chair across the classroom

2 weeks later, one teacher said he went on a holiday cruise and another one said he resigned to start a new post elsewhere.

 :colonhash:

My Year 4 teacher. He was terrible. He would eat chocolate in front of class making noises like "Mmmm!". He had anger problems, too. Once I got a question wrong in my Maths book and he drew a big cross on the page and threw the book across the room. Apparently he was a bit of a perv aswell!

And the Science teachers in my secondary school were all bad!
My 5th year Chemistry teacher. In a way he was a great teacher because we always did the experiments. However he was just bad at teaching the subjects and I never learned anything off him. Luckily it was a double period and we had another teacher for the first one who was great

I had that during my year 5 as well. Some of the boys were crying when we were called to her room to continue with the lessons that we couldn't understand.

She was basically shouting her breast off to 'discipline' us all.

Was really a  for me.

Substitute teacher Mrs Bogey was my worst I first had her in juniors school she gave me detention because I didn't want to do the work that she set.

Then had her in two separate high schools first teaching history the second was teaching maths.. dam she wanted to make you pull your hair out.
One of the history tutors last year at A-Level - he was only there for three weeks and didn't arrange for a substitute or even set work for us to do, ergo we had to teach ourselves the course. Many people failed.

Moral of the story: teachers do make a difference but only if they're there!
Year 7 Maths Teacher = He was Portugees and spoke really bad broken English in a really strong accent so we couldn't really understand him

Year 7 Geography Teach = He was really violent, swore alot when he was angry and one day threw a chair across the classroom which hit one of the class members and broke his arm .. he was then sacked and an investagation showed he had a criminal record for violence and serious anger issues ..

Year 9 Science Teacher = He left the gas on his classroom over lunch time and most of the next class after lunch were ill, including 1 that passed out and 1 that was in hospital for 3 days vomitting

Years 10 & 11 English Teacher = He was good a teaching English but was really smutty and use to act out sex scenes from plays/books/films .. little big creepy

College Tutors = Two of our tutors at college, used to come into class, sit down, do the register and leave again .. never to be seen for the rest of lesson with lasted upto 3 hours

We've had quite a few in hindsight! :P

They had a full police investagation, the head teacher was sacked along with the specific member of staff

Long term science cover teacher Mr Dobbie. He didn't actually know the syllabus and frequently had to query answers with the smarter pupils. He was then investigated by panorama and struck off :P Now he's a Lib Dem politician haha

My Economics teacher at AS. At the very beginning of the course he said 'All my students that I taught at my previous school did very well, many of them getting A's and B's, they used to put in 10 hours a week of independent study'.

It was only after we got our results did we realise why his former students put in 10 hours of extra study every week, we all then formed an orderly queue to pay for our resits.

The worst one for me has got to be the primary school teacher who didn't believe me when I said my ear hurt. Turned out I had an aggressive, fast-moving ear infection that destroyed hearing in that ear.

sue her sorry ass!
Oh, where to start.

My second year maths teachers were a joke. Mrs ___ was barely there, and when she was there she seemed to be pre-programmed with the phrase: "Too much chat" - it was literally all she ever said. Mr ___ couldn't write properly, and had a weird twitch - we called him Flicky.

My french teacher - she was short, fat, had very curly ginger hair and had a very odd personality. She carried a pink handbag with a massive daisy on it, smelt odd, once fell backwards into a cardboard box... We had fun though - she'd stick on tapes for us to work through, we'd then all text each other which would cause interference on the tape system. She'd then turn off the tape, thinking it was broken.

My RE teacher - spoke about her religious experiences, locked people in her cupboard (which had a glass window so said pupil would be standing waving whilst she was teaching), she had NO sense of humour, had a weird shuffling walk and didn't like talking about sex - at all. I did however have another RE teacher who willingly admitted that she and her husband watched Sexcetera for ideas...

My maths teacher - had terrible dandruff and once scratched her head over my book, sending bits of skin flying :frown:

My english teacher - had her new pupils send me nasty emails long after I'd left school.

My PE teacher - told me to swim or or drown, despite me being dyspraxic and had me and a severely asthmatic girl (we were both off PE due to illness) stick up goalposts in the middle of winter as punishment for missing PE.

My geography teacher - a hilarious specimen of human, I can't begin to describe how awful she was. My music teacher also comes under that category!

My business teacher wondered around the classroom with bare feet...

My SFL teacher told me I was attention seeking and playing on my dyspraxia..

Or my primary school teacher who tried to insuate my eight year old severely disabled sister was willingly masturbating in her classroom!
