Out of interest, what made you guys apply for Dental H+T and not Dentistry? Was it because of grades?

I decided on hygienist because its too long to train as a dentist and im 31 so a bit old. 2 years is enough for me. I think the job is less intense as well.

My interview was in March- they told me mid-April. Can't tell you what the written assessment is about- had to sign something to say we wouldnt discuss it. But its ok- dont panic about it. The interview is with 4 people which is scary but they are really nice. Questions include how will u manage ur time and finances and then the usual why you want to be a therapist, why you would be a good therapist etc.

Absolutely be yourself. Dont BS. They are not stupid- they will know if you do. They are looking for the right person and not the person who can give the right answers. This is definitely how I got in. Also dont panic- if u hesitate or stumble over your words just ask for a second to think about the question. They love this. If you have anything to show manual dextrity bring it along.

For anyone going to Birmingham... Do you have to apply for the NHS bursary yourself through the website or do Birmingham send you the paperwork?

Thanks for replying. I applied to dental hygiene. I understand why u cant discuss the written assessment, i had to sign a declaration as well. I just panicked as soon as i saw written assessment. Did u get in??

i called the nhs helpline and they said that the uni will pass on your details to them and then the NHS will contact you with login details etc. i still havent heard back from them. but the last time i heard portsmouth had passed on my details just waiting on birms but nhs said it will take a while !hope that helps

hi guys this is my first time here so a little confused!

i got an offer from manchester birmingham and leeds have chosen to go to leeds! anyone else going?

i had gotten rejected from leeds at first and then was sent another letter saying it was an administration mistake as the lady had been ill and they had stapled my acceptance to someone who had been rejected! i had only one days notice to prepare for my interview! because the letter had been sent to the post office to be signed and i picked it up just in time the night before thinking it was spam hahaha!

You never kno, they might just be waiting to see if anyone rejects and if so you could be next in line! fingers crossed for you.. Have u applied anywhere else? X
