I lived on the Wheatley campus as a three-year old, when my Mum was studying there. I have dim memories of liking it, but can't tell you much about the social life! My mother seemed to have a lot of friends... there was Pam, who had long blonde hair, and her partner Nigel who would let me sit up on his shoulders. Sorry, what was the question again?

lol, fair enough
Ok i currently study at Wheatley but live at crescent hall.
Wheatley isnt the most attractive campus but you only have lectures there. Don't just live at wheatley cause u have lectures there, it isnt worth it.
Also accom at Wheatley is catered only.
There is a bus service that passes through all accoms either the U1 or U5X which take you to wheatley.

Word to the wise though don't set your heart on one accomadation as you have to enter 5 and its Uncommon to get your first choice, I personally got my 4th Choice of accom.

Most accom is set out in either flats of 6 or 7 people and some you share bathrooms. Note that Cheney is a 50 week contract so costs extremely more.

Social life at wheatley is hard as it is a good 7 miles away from city centre and unless you want to spend a fortune on taxis you have to get on the last night bus at 2am

I go to wheatley as well, the outside building is grim, but the inside I'm told isn't too bad, its far away from anything i.e shops, town centre, supermarket,

I live at Slade Park (student accommodation but run by a seperate company), catching the U5X takes around 15 mins to wheatly

so true! i'm living at cheney, but my lectures are at wheatley - and i don't regret choosing this option. as a first year u get a free bus pass if u're living in halls, and the bus service is pretty good (i'm talkin bout the U1) so getting to wheatley from gipsy lane is not such a problem.
but trust me, u really don't want to live at lady spencer.

ahhh kk. wot about the social life, as in not clubs and bars, but how is the accom organised?? is it in flats of 6 like clive booth, or just individual rooms?
its normally flats of 6/7 not fully sure. u share a small kitchen for snacks but thats about it.

when you apply for accommodation just dont put wheatley as a choice otherwise you will get it, and you dont want it. It's big tall apartment blocks that are just grey and an eye saw, it's miles away from anything and if you want to go out at night a taxi home will set you back about £20!! I've talked to so many people who just wish they weren't there.

Pick Crescent Halls  its the best one (not bias here at all)
Yeh don't live at Wheatley. I had lectures there in my 1st year and wouldn't have wanted to live there, it's just too far from the main campus (Gypsy Lane) and the town centre.
I lived in Cheney, and have loads of friends who lived at Wheatley and loved it.
I used to sleepover there alot and all that stuff. Obviously I liked have my ensuite and being self-catering, but it's not as bad as everyone here is making out hahah. Also, being in the middle of nowhere DEFINITELY didn't stop them socialising. They just relied on last buses/safety bus. Sometimes the boys ran home. But that's cause they're stupid.

Nah that'll be at JHB (John Henry Brookes) Building at Headington Campus, I'd recommend not applying for Lady Spencer Churchill Accommodation for that reason. I currently stay in Harcourt Hill accommodation, which is only 70 pound a week, due to the quality of the buildings. However, the quality of our accommodation is no different to at Lady Spencer in Wheatley, yet that costs 140 a week. Therefore, don't apply there aha.
