How are people deciding which accomodation to apply for?

    I can't decide between:
    Leodis for location
    Tannery for living area
Central Village - new, good location

    Agghh!
    Help!

Hey everyone! I would like a bit of guidance and help from you guys! Okay the answer might be very obvious to this question...
but, if I was to choose University of Leeds or University of Westminster to study Chinese which should it be?

I'm a student from London and I personally think that it may be a stupid reason to purely choose University of Westminster because the uni is in London and low cost whereas if I go to the University of Leeds it will be high cost due to accommodation costs etc.
My family want me to stay in London due to the fact its LOW COST only, but I prefer the course in the University of Leeds.

Would going to a 'better' university (University of Leeds) justify the cost and location - obviously at the end of the day it's what you'll make out of the degree.

    Thanks in advance!

Go for Leeds if you want to. The effective savings of you staying in London are irrelevent, because you're likely to have your loan written off anyway.

I'd certainly go for a better course.
My dilemma would be whether to leave people I know or not.

Financially, choosing Leeds is good because better university gives you better prospects

I guess this reply was to my post previously, if yes then thanks for the advice!
Yes, the course in Leeds is the better course. Yes, I agree with you that I think financially in the LONG term Leeds would be better,
whereas if I really was to go to the university of Westminster it would only be financially better in the SHORT term only right?

Yes, the dilemma you said is true. But don't you think it may be a silly idea to go to the University of Westminster purely just to see the people you know daily. I mean i actually found a train ticket website that does cheap train tickets to and from Leeds. Thanks for your advice again

Well,I'm from Croatia and I'm coming this year to study in England(Manchester or Warwick).
I also got an offer from Leeds and I was considering Westminster before but I concluded that it's not a good university.

I had a dilemma whether to go to Britain or to Austria.
Of course,Leeds is not that far away so you can cone hime on refular basis. I had that option with Vienna(5h by bus), but I decided to go to England because universities are simply better.

To answer your question-I don't think it's silly. I will miss my friends while in England.

Regarding finances-yes,going to better uni is certainly financially better. I don't know if you made some calculation, but I suppose that living in London wouldn't save you more than 25-30% of money you will spend during your higher education.

If I had been you,I would have applied to some better university in London, along with Leeds and whichever else.

To sum up-go to Leeds if you can anyhow financially manage it and I suppose you can (loan, grant etc.?)

I applied for Electronic and Electrical Engineering and i got a conditional offer for 70% pass average for the first year of my Foundation degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (studying at Leeds City College), plus at least 70% in the maths module.

My Alevels incidentally were B-C-C in Geography, English Literature and Physics.

Just shows that you don't need great Alevels to get into a great university!

Yes, I have an unconditional so I'm definitely going to Leeds oh that's not too far to travel then I'm from Liverpool. No I haven't seen any accommodation apart from the tannery, I lived there when I first wet to uni at 18. However it might be different now that it's managed by the uni. September needs to hurry up I'm too excited to start lol.

Yeah, I couldn't see myself living at home for uni! I went to uni at 18 to study law and it was a big eye opener. After the first semester I knew law wasn't for me so decided to withdraw. I'll be 22 this time round and I just can't wait to get back to studying lol. The tannery was REALLY sociable when I was there, always loads of flat parties and everyone knew each other from other blocks and always went out and stuff as I said not sure if it will be like that now tho, it depends on the people living there doesn't it
