    BSc (hons) Gay Studies
Well to continue the theme of the day I too am creating a gay-themed thread!
As a gay male, I am interested in the reasons behind my sexuality. Is being gay an innate characteristic determined by genetics or is it the result of various nurturing techniques?

I would like to volunteer for studies on reasons behind homosexuality but I have no idea how to get involved in them. When researchers need volunteers do they randomly select an area to study or do people apply from around the UK and go on a waiting list?

    I'd say it's a bit of both

It's definitely natural though - without wanting to cause offence, if we are all naturally heterosexual, why would anyone choose to be homosexual?

EDIT: The question I've posed isn't me saying that being gay is a bad choice; I'm saying that if we are all naturally straight there would be no decision

I was expecting something more from this thread.

To be honest, I think most studies done on homosexuality have been predominantly psychological, but I ain't sure.

I thought there was going to be some article on a new controversial course being introduced then. Disappointed.

I'm not sure but I think it is to do with the environment people are living in, most of the time. In some countries, people don't even know or they have never heard of homosexuality hence you don't see any (not many, at least) homosexula people.
I'm not sure that studying 'homosexuality' is something that I would encourage because there should either be 'sexuality' as a general course or nothing. Not just homosexuality.
