I respect you for that but so many religionists etc. do not and immediately negate you for saying anything/questioning their religion which is wrong. Not just religionists though.

I wish I could plus rep you for that statement though.
    Ah thank you
But it's only fair if I challenge their beliefs they get to challenge mine too. Also I'm so sure in my beliefs that I don't really feel threatened if they do question things, because I see it as friends trying to understand me better and vice versa.

i don't need to read a book to reassure me that i am not being 'brainwashed' by society.. i just know.
So you think yet sub consciously you've been brainwashed and you don't even realise it.

I know these things, I'm currently doing a thesis on the topic.

    Science goes against homosexuality
Err, in what way exactly? There are plenty of animals that exhibit non-hetero behaviour.

Generally, when something is the 'societal norm' it is because it's what is best for the most people. Encouraging people not to be homophobic makes life easier for homosexual people, for example, and in turn life is easier for the non-homosexuals as well due to less tension within the community.

The other points you made about hair colour and music taste have absolutely nothing to do with freedom of speech, and are certainly not really imposed by society. Nobody is going to hunt you down if you don't listen to the charts or have a natural hair colour!
