Re: University of Hertfordshire applicants 2012
Is it certain courses that get offered accommodation first, or is it based on geographical location as well?
I've heard nothing about it, so I'll assume it's because - although I've applied for accommodation - I live an easily commutable distance from the university, and therefore I'm way back on the list? -
Re: University of Hertfordshire applicants 2012Absolutely not, it's completely on a first come first serve basis. Has nothing to do with living closer to uni or that certain courses get an advantage.(Original post by Introvert2020)

The only priorities that are given are medical reasons or international students because it's a lot harder for them to find accommodation in the local area. -
Re: University of Hertfordshire applicants 2012Ah fair enough. I wasn't annoyed or anything, I was just curious as to how it was worked.(Original post by Pop_tart)

Re: University of Hertfordshire applicants 2012Also, what I forgot to mention is that unconditional offer holders get offered a place first, then all the conditional offer holders.(Original post by Introvert2020)

and no worries, I didn't take it that you were annoyed or anything ^^ just wanted to assure you everyone has an equal chance as long as you apply in time

Re: University of Hertfordshire applicants 2012It doesn't make that much of a difference really, obviously they are the first to get accommodation but most people get their first choice or at least their second choice(Original post by SuarezAlonso)
I'm so jealous at everyone who got Unconditional's and getting their rooms early.

Re: University of Hertfordshire applicants 2012I live in Barnet (very easy to commute really) and I got my offer on the 10th.(Original post by Introvert2020)

Re: University of Hertfordshire applicants 2012
I knows its been said but i really hope the stuff that people have been saying about De Hav being quiet is not true ! I love partying and my course is on De Hav so it made more sense to live there. Fingers crossed, im quite worried now that im going to regret not going to Telford. Someone offer me some reassurance !

Re: University of Hertfordshire applicants 2012Lots of people take the free shuttle bus between the campuses. You really don't NEED to live in the campus you have your lectures at ^^ The bus takes like 5 min.(Original post by Srone)

I genuinely never understood why people say de hav is quiet. I spent most of my time there and there were parties going on all the time! It's all upto the people themselves, if you WANT to have a good time you can have one!
Just get some people together and start the arty!

Re: University of Hertfordshire applicants 2012my friend lived in watton hall all first year and there were loads of parties from that flat and the flats next to them so you have nothing to worry about. De hav is a much better campus to live in imo.(Original post by Srone)
