It’s election time again! The 7 parties (+1 independent) of the TSR Model House of Commons are vying for your vote in our General Election. The result of the votes will determine how many seats each party gets when the 14th TSR Parliament commences.

The TSR MHoC proposes and debates bills to change the law in the Model UK, so your votes are instrumental in determining which laws get made over the next 6 months. If you like debating, why not get involved? CLICK HERE to find out more about the TSR MHoC.

Read through the manifestos carefully as the policies of some TSR parties may differ from their real life counterparts.

You must be a member registered for at least 3 months and have made over 150 posts to be eligible to vote. Users with neg rep may find themselves unable to vote in this poll. TSR

The TSR Liberal Democrats stand for liberalism in all things. We want a future where personal rights are respected, politicians are accountable, markets are strengthened and inequalities of opportunity are eliminated. Join us, and together we can make this future reality.

We will deliver an education system that supports opportunities for children and students of all socio-economic groups. Students are the lifeblood of our future economy and we will support any measure that opens up Higher Education to poorer students.

We will vehemently oppose any attempt at wholesale privatisation of the NHS. However, we do commit to reform of the NHS, particularly in opening up patient choice and creating a renewed focus on quality of care. Bureaucracy and poor management will be targeted and, where possible, eliminated.

We oppose any unjustified infringement on the rights of individuals. We will reform libel laws, scale back the UK surveillance culture and deliver the right to marry for same-sex couples.

We will construct a first-class railway network suitable for the UK's future as a leading nation, opening new high-speed lines and improving local commuter rail links to aid our ailing road infrastructure and promote regional development.

We will seek the future energy independence of the UK, through increased emphasis on renewable and nuclear energy production and investment in new energy production technologies, such as nuclear fusion.

Vote for liberty, fairness, and common sense.
Vote for Government that is on your side.
Vote for the TSR Liberal Democrats.

TSR

Tired of economic failure, huge unemployment, excessive red tape and a failing tax system?

Angry that the best schools in the land are only available to the rich?

Frustrated that the only solution other parties have to all problems is more government?

If you answered yes to one or more of the above questions, vote Libertarian - here's some reasons.

Our recent achievements & goals, we:

Legalised drugs to help addicts, stop funding organised crime, stop wasting police time and used the money saved to cut VAT.

Scrapped the surveillance state, by reducing 14 day detention to 7 days, stopping funding for CCTV cameras and cutting other invasive laws.

Legalised brothels, because consenting sex between adults is no business of the state. We have a safe, regulated system of brothels to protect the prostitute and client.

Removed all central funding for speed cameras and ordered a review so that only cameras actually helping safety survive.

Will reform education to open up the independent school system to all, not just the few.

Will reform taxes so that they are lower, simpler and more progressive.

Will oppose all bailouts to failed banks, governments or other corporations. Badly run institutions shouldn't be saved at the cost of the nation.

If you're not voting Libertarian, you're not paying attention.

Independent:
TheCrackInTime

It's time for change.

Foreign Policy Free trade, friendly relations with all nations and encouraging peace and human rights around the world, should be the cornerstone of British foreign policy. A vote for TheCrackInTime will see that put into action in the MHoC.

Defence The Armed Forces in this country are facing huge cuts. While it is essential that we reduce our national deficit, it is also important that our Armed Forces are as well equipped as they need to be. A vote for TheCrackInTime will return an MP who will stand up for our serving men and women in the MHoC.

Civil liberties Freedom and liberty is the birthright of all people. However in recent years, many of those freedoms have been eroded by the State. A vote for TheCrackInTime is a vote to take those freedoms back.

Justice Justice should be accessible to all, regardless of wealth, class or social background. I believe the cuts to legal aid that have been proposed by the RL government will be extremely damaging. A vote for TheCrackInTime is a vote for justice for all.

Use your vote; vote TheCrackInTime. :tardis:

Everybody should have an equal chance - but they shouldn't have a flying start - Harold Wilson.

As the largest party in a successful coalition government, the TSR Labour party has much to be proud of, for example our four government bills this term on healthcare, our support for civil rights bills, support to help homeless people and to raise the motorway speed limit. There is still much to do, and with your support we can continue to make Britain a fairer society for us all to live in.

The TSR Labour Party will:

Propose a bill for a more redistributive tax system, to ensure the working and middle class are no longer the hardest hit.

Look at university tuition funding with the aim of lowering the amount students have to pay for world class education.

Fight privatisation, especially in the NHS to ensure that profits aren't put ahead of patient care.

Continue to support the state of Palestine in attempts to enact a two state solution in the middle east.

Create jobs by reinvesting in infrastructure and services to help the economy grow.

The TSR Labour Party - Working hard for a fairer Britain.

UKIP - Putting Britain first

During the last term in the HoC, TSR UKIP has gone from strength to strength. Not only have we gained an extra MP thanks to your votes, but we have been an active member of the Government. We have fulfilled many of election promises including:
- looking at ways to limit the EU's powers (particularly regarding loopholes surrounding student fees)

- trying to encourage responsible business practices through changes to the capital gains tax
Once again, TSR UKIP seeks your vote. We pledge to:
- reform international aid to ensure that it only goes to charities and local groups rather than governments

- raise the personal allowance for income tax to lift more people out of income tax.

- increase the amount of apprenticeships by removing restrictive red tape

- publish all Government contracts where national safety is not compromised to allow all interested parties to see the reasons behind decisions.

- reform the education system cutting much of the unnecessary red tape strangling the education system

- create tougher sentencing guidelines, but also introduce early intervention to reduce the prison population.

- resist any attempts by the EU to impose taxes which place an unfair burden on the UK and renegotiate the UK’s position to get a better deal.

- enshrine the military Covenant in law and ensure that our forces are properly equipped (e.g. with aircraft carriers) to deal with the threats facing the UK.
VOTE UKIP FOR A BETTER BRITAIN!

TSR

The TSR Conservatives are founded on certain core principles: liberty, responsibility and opportunity for all. We believe that everyone should be free to fulfil their potential regardless of background or finances, especially at university - that's why we'll be encouraging businesses to sponsor you through your degree.

Conservatives believe in freedom and responsibility, we believe there’s been a considerable erosion of civil liberties over the last decade with thousands of new criminal offences introduced. To combat this erosion of liberty, we will order a comprehensive review of all criminal legislation with the desire to remove all unnecessary laws and regulations.

We aim to abolish income tax on your salary and replace it with a land value tax on the unimproved value of the land you own. Not only is one of the most progressive taxation moves ever seen, but it will also leave you better off. With more disposable income, the economy will get back on track and will improve growth in the private sector

During the next term, we'll also be aiming to abolish archaic Sunday Trading laws dating back decades - meaning large businesses can remain open for as many hours as they like, helping the economy. We'll also undertake a significant review of the public sector, remove bureaucratic and over-paid civil servants - meaning your taxes get more for your money.

We’ve made great progress in the TSR Commons, we need your help to do more.

Vote for the TSR Conservatives. Vote for progress.

TSR

The Socialist Party

We Socialists believe in Liberty, Equality and Justice for all. Where others seek to divide you, carving up the population into petty divisions of race, creed or nation, Socialists stand for all Humankind, united in our struggle for Freedom and Justice for all.

The continuation of the 50p tax as well as higher taxation on the largest corporations and investment banks.
We believe that it is unfair that those at the top of society are making huge profits whilst hundreds of thousands of people live in poverty.

We will oppose cuts in NHS expenditure and the closure/privatisation of parts of the NHS.
We believe it is unfair that quality of care suffers when hospitals and surgeries are treated like profit-driven businesses rather than public services.

We will fight for free and equal education for all.
The Socialists believe that a good education is a right, not a privilege to only be enjoyed by the rich. We will abolish university tuition fees as well as private schools and reintroduce EMA.

We will demand the introduction of a 'Living Wage'.
The Socialist Party believes that the current minimum wage is not sufficient to cover the living costs of individuals and families. We therefore propose that a living wage of at least £8 an hour be introduced.

We will end the UK's involvement in overseas conflicts.
The Socialist Party will end military operations in Afghanistan and Libya.

TSR

It’s OK not to know the answer!

Sometimes there are issues to which the answer cannot be found by sticking solely to a left- or right- wing viewpoint. There needs to be a middle way, and that is what the Centre Party offers.

We are independent minded, responding as we see fit to find a workable solution, without recourse to diatribes on the virtues and vices of Socialism and Conservatism. There are good points in almost all viewpoints they just need to be found.

Where does your view lie? Will you go with the majority and comply with something you don’t fully believe in, or will you make up your own mind and decide on an issue based on its merits?

The TSR Centre Party has a long record of participating in government, only not taking part once in the history of the party. We have worked with almost every other party since our foundation, but have never been afraid to speak our mind, even up to the point of leaving a government coalition. We have also guided some of the most significant pieces of legislation through the MHoC, including the first Budget and many environmental policies.

We believe that sensible, moderate, considerate views are the way to govern effectively, and that is what we will deliver when elected.

We've not had any for a few terms, so I thought I'd give it a go.

Voted Socialist, best manifesto by far
Although suprisingly I liked most of the libertarian's social policy but couldn't help laugh at the "Angry that the best schools in the land are only available to the rich?" bit when effectively they want more private sector involvement in education, which just like in health, results in a two tier system.

Looking at a Bill which we proposed last term (as a First Reading) and will be carrying forward to next term, to provide gov't means tested subsidy (including the whole fee for anyone earning under £25K - the median wage) to pay independent school fees, we literally are opening up the best schools to all. It isn't a lie at all and is about eliminating, not creating a two tier system.

Ohh, this is rather difficult. I see 3 Manifestos I really like, and without real world worries about the realistic nature of the policies put forward it does make things rather difficult. Hmm.
