I got my A Levels last year and am on a gap year so it's unconditional Cannot wait to go. I know! It's so late, I'm not sure why! really looking forward to it.
Aahh that's top, I couldn't do a gap year with an offer I'd end up reconsidering everything! I love that it's so late because my birthday's a bit before, at the en of september so I can spend it at home =P but I'm really looking forward to it as well!! =D given I get the grades that is =\

I have a question for students of Economics Dept - what are Erasmus Partner Universities for economics students? I found information on it in prospectus, but on the website of the university there is nothing.

    Thanks in advance.

@thetobbit oh so you've also applied for History? Well I'm considering Exeter as well.. I think the course is great at both; York has a lot of variety, but what I'm ultimately unsure about is the other stuff it offers - extra curricular, employability prospects, sport, etc. I'm not a party animal or anything but Exeter offer lots and lots you?
Hi, York was top choice and kind of an aspirational (i wont get an offer lol) choice.

Yeh I'm especially excited about the prospect of learning a new language in place of 1 of my modules and apparently York is great for medieval history which I love.

In terms of sports etc all I know is that, thankfully, the tiny gym has been replaced with a new 2012-opened sports complex with loads of equipment and I think some swimming pools

Hello everyone, firmed York yesterday, but now worried that I may have made a mistake, especially since my brother keeps telling me that i'm a fool for choosing York.

    Name: Shan
    Age: 22
    Course: Genetics
    Offer: Unconditional

Very shocked with offer, since Skype interview went TERRIBLE!

I would but they normally take ages to reply and i dont want to run the risk of not having them contact me before the 24th, it took them 3 weeks to contact me back from my last question.

but i suppose i have little choice, its not really a good set up really
I felt the admissions team replied to my queries and problems very quickly, even sometimes within the same hour! The secretary named Monica is fab at what she does, I even told the lecturers to give her a big thank you from me for being an amazing support! I had to cancel my interview twice, and I thought, thats it there goes my chance, but they were ever so polite and understanding about it!

I have been in contact with the same person Monica. She's been great and replies have been very prompt!
I even got the first offer from York from any of my choices , they were always very polite and warm.

Will firm York on the 12th. =D

Fool for choosing York. O rly? Ignore him, thats a idiotic thing to say. What were your other offers? Oxford? Harvard? Yale?

I'd agree with him if this were so.

Congrats on your offer, it's a great choice.

NOOO...not such Universities. I got Unconditional from Dundee, Aberdeen and Hull.

To which all of them I applied to study Biomedical Sciences.

I only applied to York for Genetics. My brother is not talking about the University when he says I'm a fool, its because Biomedical Science is what I originally wanted to do, and he is worried that I will not enjoy my Genetics course because it is too specific, whilst the Biomedical Sciences will allow me to explore many things before I make up my mind. Plus Genetics doesn't allow anatomy ..I realy don't know what to do..York as a Uni is A-Mazing!..I love the 19 week language programme that they offer.

Now i see, thats just brotherly love. What are you looking to do afterwards? As i doubt 100% that doing genetics over biomed will lessen your options. If you want to do grad entry medicine, genetics is on the list of all unis who ask for science degree. Plus York kicks all those other uni's ass.
