Re: UCAS 2012 - Discuss your decisions **here**Sorry about the delay, didn't realise you commented, still getting used to this site! The area seems lovely, I've visited quite a few times, just not in the winter, what's it like then? Do I need to bring thermals? Lol.(Original post by Jackkkkk)
Veryy nice
I live in Chichester and use their library a bit for revision (even though i'm just doing a levels atm). If you have any questions about the area ill happily answer them
BTW your course sounds amazing, v.jealous (im applying for straight psych, not at chi though, but sport psych has a really good reputation at Chichester
)
Where have you applied? My first choice was to do psychology and criminology, sorta wish i stuck with that, but oh well I like psychology and sport

Re: UCAS 2012 - Discuss your decisions **here**Ahh i see, i went round on their open days and really liked it - just a bit too close to home aha(Original post by natacham6)

yeah in the winter it can be cold, but then again i guess it can be everywhere, its winter :P where are you from, because chi is pretty southern so its not too bad.
There is a lot to do in chichester, quit surprisingly, considering its size
I firmed Bristol, but whether i get the grades or not i duno. Oh where did you apply to do psych and crim? Sport psych sounds better anyway aha

Re: UCAS 2012 - Discuss your decisions **here**I'm from London, i used to go on holiday quite a lot to Selsey (not sure if you know it or not) so we used to just drive to Chic to do a bit of shopping. Yeah that's what I was worried about, being small is there much to do apart from shop and wondered what the nightlife is like :/..(Original post by Jackkkkk)

Oh wow, that is a move from home! Lol, i''m sure you will, if you put your mind to it (I sound like my mum :/) what do they want?. I liked Portsmouth, Nottingham trent can't remember what else, it seems so long ago that i first started looking at unis -
Re: UCAS 2012 - Discuss your decisions **here**yeah I know Selsey- its nice - close to west wittering which you will find has the most amazing. Youll probably spend most your summer term there aha :P yeah nightlife is a little thin on the ground, there is Thursdays (a club) which is alright and lots of people go there, plus slug and lettice and a bar called the vestry. But for the majority of time its best to go to portsmouth (30 mins on the train) which tbh is not that bad. remeber there will be loads of students in the same position as you wanting to go out - brighton isnt far either - so im sure youll have plenty of opportunites aha(Original post by natacham6)

Re: UCAS 2012 - Discuss your decisions **here**Does it mean that it need reference from a tutor?=/(Original post by SaharaDesert)
Can anyone help??
I applied to SOAS through Extra and now I have been sent a letter. ON the letter it says REF next to SOAS status. When I looked at the key, I couldnt find "REF" on there, but "REFCNC" means "choice cancelled" ? But I HAVENT cancelled my choice at SOAS and on TRack, nothings changed (nothing is next to the SOAS status) So I was thinking maybe they rejected me or cancelled my application??
What does REF mean? -
Re: UCAS 2012 - Discuss your decisions **here**I meant to say west wittering has the most amazing beach :P thats fine, if you ever need to know anything just PM me(Original post by natacham6)

Re: UCAS 2012 - Discuss your decisions **here**
Not sure if this is the right thread but I'll give it a go anyway. I picked John Moores for my chosen university after receiving an unconditional offer. I have all my A-Levels (meeting the requirements). My current history grade stands at a C, for personal reasons I did quite poorly on my final exam in college and so am resitting this particular one in June privately. If I fail the exam I still have a C overall. On my UCAS I put the private exam down and as pending. If on the chance I fail, does my unconditional offer still stand as I still have an actual A-Level in history that's a C (and this is accepted by the uni)? It's really just an attempt to boost my grade really. Hopefully this makes some sense, thanks
.

Yes, if you've got an unconditional place at a university you've been accepted on the grades you already have. So you're in regardless of your resit grade. Lucky you(Original post by Ratiocinative)

Re: UCAS 2012 - Discuss your decisions **here**I don't know what it means - if you are worried about it the best thing to do is to contact UCAS and ask (assuming the letter came from them). If the letter came from SOAS, the important bit is Track, so if that's showing what you expect at this stage, no need to worry. It may be some code that SOAS uses to identify Extra applicants -(Original post by SaharaDesert)

Re: UCAS 2012 - Discuss your decisions **here**Thanks for you help sorry i hadn't replied earlier, I went for sheffield! Yh was the most friendly out of the two! Thanks again and good luck in all your endeavours(Original post by GiveMeAChallenge)
Can't comment on teaching but i know sheffield has one of the best student unions! Id go for sheffield, its a very friendly place with tonnes of countryside and good social facilities and nightclubs. Do you have offers from them both?
PS just wondering which uni did you go to?
