Re: Chemical engineering application thread 2012Ya got email just now(Original post by sibi123)
Anyone got an email from UCL saying their open day on the 9th of Feb was cancelled?
Is it just 9th of Feb that's been cancelled ?
I’m contacting you on behalf of Dr George Manos.
Unfortunately our UCAS open day of 9th February 2012 has been cancelled, as no offers have been made yet.
We will contact candidates who receive an offer in due course regarding attendance of a later open day.
Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. -
Re: Chemical engineering application thread 2012

Re: Chemical engineering application thread 2012hey, i applied for biochem eng too (and chem eng at Ucl). when did you get your interview email? i had one for the 19th but i asked to rearrange due to exams. they haven't got back to me since though :/(Original post by human.)
I have an interview at UCL on the 9th of Feb - for Biochemical Engineering
Maybe they cancelled the open day because they still have interviews going on?
I didn't realise those that applied for chemical engineering didn't need an interview
Good luck with your interview btw

Re: Chemical engineering application thread 2012just tell them that you cant make it because of long travelling reasons, and they might give you the offer without an interview...i got an offer without an interview and someone else on tsr called loughborough giving them the travelling reason which i just told you, and he/she got the offer the next day without an interview

Yeah Loughborough gave me a straight up offer because I couldn't afford the train fare. Though I would have loved to have gone up but I've already had to pay to go to Teesside, Cardiff, Sheffield and Leeds. Bearing in mind I live down south that's a looooooot of money
But yeah, if you don't want to go, just say you can't make it because of travel cost. It's worth a shot! -

Re: Chemical engineering application thread 2012Same choices, except i chose UCL over luffbra. Got an offer from all of them except UCL. Manchester has the better reputation and will probably be more attractive to employers but it's supposed to be amongst the hardest course for chemeng, but brum has much higher satisfaction however less than half of their graduates got a 2.1 or above according to unistats. It all depends on what you find most important in your choice(Original post by Prav_Heer)

Re: Chemical engineering application thread 2012Cheers what are u guna put down as your firm? I suppose the reason why manchester is more attractive to employers is because of its harder course.(Original post by 4RealBlud)
