Why would you make an announcement for that?
I was being an egomaniac. It was meant to be funny

Why would you even choose HW over Edinburgh anyway?

    What's your first choice?

My advice would be not Stirling. I'm from that area and it's not the best place to live.

well i was thinking about firming Aberdeen even if it has lower requirements than Stirling, but then i still havent heard from HW , so i cant make up my mind.

By the way, what's so bad about Stirling?

Yeah but the good thing is that now the deadline for choosing Firm/Insurance choice for both of us has extended up until the 6th or the 7th of June So it will be after the exams which i think is positive.

Am I mad to firm Herriot Watt for BA Fashion over University of Westminster?
Both are awesome courses but Herriot Watt is much higher in the league tables, employability rankings than Westminster which is a rubbish uni that happens to have a good fashion course :P x

have you done that already or are you planning to? I think, as far as education goes, Heriot Watt is better and you should be mainly focusing on getting a degree that's going to get you somewhere...don't be discouraged by the location of the uni, you have Edinburgh nearby and plus it's 10x cheaper than London

I think I am going to firm it you know...As far as Fashion goes Herriot Watt have the best facilities, course suited to me in a slightly more comemrcial and business context and highest graduate employment rate out of all the fashion colleges and unis.
The location in Galashields is the only thing that puts me off. It is a very quiet country setting, I just hope there is still a good social scene and a chance to get out and go to Edinburgh occassionally!
Which campus will you be studying at?

the same one as you (sorry if I didn't make it clear earlier). Yeah, I know the location isn't the best, but I've talked with so many students in Gala and one thing they all agreed on is that it's what you make of the whole experience and that there's always loads of people who organize parties or go to edinburgh together etc, you get the idea. I myself quite like the idea of having a nice calm place to study (hopefully) hard in and then the buzz of Edinburgh right next to me.
if you chose Heriot Watt, are you planning to stay in the new halls?

Yes now you mention it I do remember you saying you were studying fashion! I will be staying in the new halls aren't they lovely Yes there will be the option of trips out to Edinburgh campus then the city hopefully, it is lovely at christmas time for shopping. I was looking at the societies the other day too, most of them are based at the Edinburgh campus. I wonder if we will be allowed to join in?...

I think I've read somewhere on their website that all the facilities (and societies then too I guess...) on the Edinburgh campus are available to students from the Gala campus as well. And tbh, that would make sense, I mean it's the same Uni after all...

Why would you even choose HW over Edinburgh anyway?
Because, some courses are better at Heriot Watt than Edinburgh.

I don't personally think so, but I'm not studying economics at Heriot-Watt.

Accomodation - being an English student the results come out later than the scottish ones. This means everyone will be applying for accomodation before me. I'm worried I'm gonna het left with the worst rooms. They said that they leave a certain amount of each type of room for the proportion of English students applied but I'm unsure how believable this is!
Second year entry - spoke to the lady who did the business talk and she said that as I did business and economics at a level it wouldnt be a problem coming in at second year. But I'm still a little worried, don't wanna be way behind everyone?
I asked this question on an applicant day. The woman I asked said they really do hold a proportion back to make it fair. Also it depends on what you want. They have the most of middle range en suite rooms so if that's what you want you should get it. cheap or expensive ones are more fought over.

is Economics better in HW than Edinburgh?
I'm weighing this up at the moment.
Very likely to firm HW but stiiiill waiting for reply from Edinburgh (i've applied for economics).
Not sure if I will get an offer from Edinburgh but if I do I don't know what to choose between HW and edin as my firm.
Not getting an offer would make my choice very simple.
