I like the shoes, but it's a waste of money. They won't last long, being velvet. Get caught in the rain and they're ruined.

Normally I'd be loving £485 shoes. I could easily spend ridiculous money on shoes if had it.

I can afford it (thanks to student loan) but I don't know if I can justify spending that type of money when that could buy 50 shoeless homeless people a pair of shoes and so on.

It's obviously clear that's that they are too expensive, a better way I could have put it was - is it worth it?
I think it's pretty funny that the majority of you have gone on relentlessly about how 'ugly' they are, FYI not everyone has the same taste and like the same things if we did then it would be a boring world!
