Bioveterinary science & gateways: 2012 entry!
greetings to my fellow stressed out, ucas stalking students! i thought creating a thread for biovet sci and gateways would be a cracking idea considering looking at the vet med one i get sad and think i'll never become a vet! this is just to track ucas progression with unis to put each others minds at ease

the story thus far: applied to linoln, uwe, rvc and liverpool for bioveterinary science and to the rvc gateway. so far i've been acknowledged by everyone but lincoln, starting to worry about that one havent heard any news of interviews or anything as of yet. where's everyone applied and how is your application progress going? all in the same boat guyys, sharing is caring! no judging judies about here :P

I have applied to RVC Gateway and got the cute postcard for acknowledgement (even though the puppy looks a bit too excited if you take a second look...). Also applied to Bristol and Notts Prelim Vet years - both have acknowledged my app and Notts have sent me the link to the questionnare. Just a waiting game now!

    Good luck to us x

I´m such a saddo I print screened everything then printed them off so I´ve been up to write up the rough drafts of my answers while I´m on holiday, don´t get back til Wednesday so it still gives me a day or so to sort it all out. But the character limit makes a part of me die inside

Unfortunately the holiday´s been plagued with a flash flood (people died), rain and thunder and lightning. Not as sunny as I wanted it to be

Haha! Went on a jeep tour yesterday and have gotten sunburnt enough to keep me warm when I returned. The radiators are all cranked up and I'm ready to get myself a hot chocolate now

Can't believe that yesterday I was in glorious sunshine hanging out the back of a jeep and eating far too much icecream for my own good

Hey guys, I'm applying for the RVC and Notts D190, as well as Liverpool and Edinburgh D100.

I'm just a little confused about the RVC Gateway Application Form, which needs to be completed by 15th Jan:
    http://www.rvc.ac.uk/undergraduate/V...y/WhatNext.cfm
    http://www.rvc.ac.uk/undergraduate/D...rm2012Rev4.pdf

You need to attach a separate personal statement, including any difficulties you may have faced to get into vet school. It says:
"In this section, please tell us more about yourself, your experiences and why you wish to be considered for Gateway. For example, if you feel your personal circumstances have interfered with your school work this is the place to tell us. This document will be read in conjunction with your UCAS personal statement, so there is no need to repeat information."

But, there's not really anything I need to include. :/ Unless I added work ex I have planned/am looking to plan. Not really anything I believe has prevented me from getting into vet school. Although I may include that I opted to pick the gateway option as I don't believe my AS results are the best I could have done.

I also think it's a bit hidden away. It was only really by chance I came across this a little while ago.

Maybe tell them about any scientific interests you have in the field of veterinary? Hopes for the future? What you learned from work experience?
