Your thoughts on the MBA from LSBF/ FBT
Hi,
I am becoming increasingly attracted to the studying the MBA from the London School of Business and Finance (LSBF) in Birmingham, also known as the Financial Business Training (FBT) school in Birmingham. The main influential factor here is the price.
My question is does anyone know how respectable this MBA from FBT is in the UK? I hear there are many overseas students studying at these schools and they also have many affiliations such as the 'University of Wales' and the French 'Grenoble Business graduate school'. I have only ever seen one ranking from the Financial Times MBA World rankings in 2010 and their MBA was apparently ranked no. 19 as listed in their MBA brochure. Their exam board is the University of Wales and they have many overseas campuses.
My Bachelor's degree, in engineering, was from a Top 20 UK university so I'm a bit hesitant about taking this opportunity to study at this establishment. Has anyone studied here before or can anyone advise me on the suitability of this MBA?
Thanks for reading.
Please reply.

Re: Your thoughts on the MBA from LSBF/ FBT
The University of Wales has recently announced that it will no longer be validating degrees from courses it does not wholly control, see http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-15157119
It will take some time before it is clear what that decision means for private colleges like LBSF. You should enquire at Grenoble Business graduate school as to how many students have graduated via the LBSF program. The marketing information on the LSBF site is impressive, but do your own research. Be sure of which program enrolment is being offered on.
The market place value of an MBA is determined by rankings of the institution which awards you the degree. Another consideration of which MBA to do is the quality of the people networks you build during the course.
As LSBF is private college, make sure you understand what happens if you are not happy for any reason in a financial context.
