Joint English and History. So we've both applied for the super popular subjects? Haha. Do you have any other offers?

I also just got an offer for the plain Psychology BSc which I'd hopefully put as my firm, with the Psych Neurosci as my backup. So is nottingham your top choice then?

Re: Nottingham Offers 2012!!Yep, Ancaster Hall. Be warned though that some halls are better than others. I'm not even kidding, does depend on what you want out of a hall though. I'm not sure if it's being changed again, but last year they didn't technically allow you to choose your hall, just general location(UP, BGP, SPC etc) and room type, though I did hear some success stories of adding an additional note to accommodation applications and their requests being granted.

Re: Nottingham Offers 2012!!Ohh really? I thought you got to choose your hall :/ I defo want to go catered for my first year, just one less thing to worry about, in my eyes. I've stayed in Florence Boot & Cripps hall previously & they were very nice, but as you say, I'm sure some halls are better than others so perhaps I just got lucky staying in those two! I'll have to do a bit of digging on the visit day methinks, thanks(Original post by alexs2602)

Re: Nottingham Offers 2012!!This is my opinion anyhow. Mmmm, I've been to both florence boot and cripps and as you say they seem very nice. Although I found florence boot had kind of a mix between an old school and just an old building feel, if that makes sense - I like it though. I think as a general rule it's better to stick to the older halls though I wouldn't say that's all encompassing because I think part of Hugh Stu is newer than other parts(the same with Ancy actually - F block is a very new construction), the newer parts of HuStu are fine but obviously it's not all 'old'. Nightingale used to be a hotel. I've only been in their bar but it definitely seems nice. Derby has an amazing dining room imo. Lincoln's pretty nice and with regards to the others I can't remember much of them because I've been drunk when I've been there. My analysis of Ancy is at first it's a complete maze, I still get off on the wrong floor sometimes, the rooms aren't that great, neither is the bar or dining hall. It's also almost all ensuite.(Original post by Giggles27)

Don't expect five star gourmet food btw, just expect to survive.
With regards to seeing all the halls on an open day that may be difficult as you need an id card to enter most halls, though as long as you wait for someone to open the door for you you can just walk in. Might be easier if you're visiting friends and doing a campus 14, because you'll have more time to do it, among other things. -
Re: Nottingham Offers 2012!!Don't rule out Rutland. It is a nice hall despite its rather silly rep and the en suites in K block are really nice. Didn't see the old rooms.(Original post by alexs2602)
