Yep, Limassol to be precise, and you?
Oh ok, that's great!
and I doubt they need further maths for this course(since I know people that had maths and got accepted) so hopefully you're right! How long did it take them to reply to your email? cheered me up, thank you
I live in Larnaca, but I always wanted to live in Limassol.
They replied to me the following day if i can remember precisely. However, it may have been two days, but I sent it in the beginning of the week. When did you send yours? -
Re: Cass Business School : Applicants and Decisions 2012Well yeah in summer Limassol is great(Original post by MangaAlexi)

Re: Cass Business School : Applicants and Decisions 2012
Got two offers from Cass the other day, one for Banking and international finance and the other for Management, weird thing is, I'm already at Warwick University studying engineering but have had a change of heart for looking into for a course that could get me into finance (I know engineering can). Due to family situations I've applied back to london this year. Offer is to get 60 % this year which is a 2:1, its do-able. Wanted to ask you guys if its worth giving up engineering at a university like Warwick to study management or banking and international finance at Cass. I really want to go into a finance analyst type job after and honestly believe that if I did graduate with an engineering degree, I'll still go into finance. Any advice anyone on here wants to share ? Thanks for your time.

Re: Cass Business School : Applicants and Decisions 2012I don't know if you're being serious or not. If you are, DON'T transfer. You are at a target university completing a highly quantitative degree, why would you want to switch to a non-target to study a considerably easier degree? B&F/Management will get you into finance but so will engineering. As a matter of fact, engineering offers you a broader spectrum of jobs you can apply to, from IB SA to algo trading roles in hedge funds; whilst Management will not - the degree isn't quantitative enough. Why waste a year then?(Original post by veeeeveee)

Re: Cass Business School : Applicants and Decisions 2012I understand , I do want to stay on my course but am I really losing out on so much if I transfer. It's only because of personal issues going on but is it really that much of a difference between Warwick and Cass ? I've got 4 years because I'm on the masters course. I thought that Cass business school was one of the top in the country ? I thought I would have better chances of gaining links within the City of London where I plan on working in the future. Do I not have a broad range of job role choices with the Banking and International finance degree at Cass ? I haven't made a definite choice yet on whether I'll go to Cass or not. It's mainly because I know I definitely want to go into finance after I finish my degree. Would I be better off just doing three years and try doing a masters at Cass or LSE provided I get a first class/upper class honours ? I always hear employers say things like it doesn't matter much about the University you go to, only if you apply to investment banking but other factors will affect your application. Does Cass not have a good reputation ? I thought I would be better suited to the course they have on offer and I know I'm not definite on going into investment banking, I would look into other job types like financial analyst or risk analyst, Actuary. I should have done more research into this. I'm sorry for writing such a long response, I appreciate your advise and help. Thanks so much.(Original post by SonnyZH)

Both engineering and Management/B&F will open doors to finance, engineering seen as a 'better' degree + will open more roles in finance.
Engineering in Warwick with a 1st will permit you apply to LSE, LBS, Said, etc. for MSc without a problem, as a matter of fact there's a higher chance of being accepted via Warwick path than Cass.
In finance it does matter which university you go to, especially during the pre-interview phase of recruitment. -
Re: Cass Business School : Applicants and Decisions 2012Thanks a lot for the reply ! Seems like its best I stay put then, thank you so much for your help.(Original post by SonnyZH)

Re: Cass Business School : Applicants and Decisions 2012Hello, if you applied just before the deadline period i.e. a week or two, it can take this long for them to respond due to the vast amount of applications being sent in that period.(Original post by Ayit)
Hi guys!
First of all, I'm from Sweden but have applied for Cass 2012.
I did apply before final deadline, but still haven't got any decision sent to me, which is weird since I know I've got the grades for it..?
I wish you the best of luck with your application.

Re: Cass Business School : Applicants and Decisions 2012
Hi guys
I've received offer from Cass (Msc Banking & International Finance) and Henley Business School (Msc Investment, International Securities and Banking) and now can't decide. I know that Cass has better reputation but putting it aside is there vast difference between the quality of the two schools? I'm asking this because Cass + the living cost in London is a bit beyond my budget.
Job prospect isn't important because I have no intention of getting a job in Britain.
Hope someone could help. Thanks so much!Last edited by okigen; 07-04-2012 at 17:41. -
Re: Cass Business School : Applicants and Decisions 2012
Got rejected by them, have an offer from Queen mary
I dont know how they rejected my applcation since city uni has a lower ranking & entry standards,
Anyway not disappointed at all because economics department in qmul has a great reputation in the field of reasearch

Re: Cass Business School : Applicants and Decisions 2012Masters in Financial disciplines are really expensive so I don't see why you would base it around the difference in accommodation. I would chose Cass because as far as I'm concerned it will open a lot more doors for you. I wasn't even aware of what/where henley business school was till right now (google :P) So quite simply yes there is a massive difference (Especially so when you're talking about Masters) Granted we are on a forum where everyone would know about Cass and there will be people in the real World who don't know about either but still.(Original post by okigen)

Besides even if you aren't looking for a job in the UK I would still go there because Cass still has a bigger global presence than Reading. A member of my family is doing a year abroad at the national university of Singapore. When employers see this they will be pretty impressed considering that it's ranked like 23rd in the World!!
They say a banker will only look at your CV for 30 seconds, known sometimes as the 30 golden seconds. They'll see MSc from Cass or MSc from Reading.
EDIT-The year abroad is thanks to Cass' connections. He's in his 2nd year of Investment and financial risk management.Last edited by r_t; 23-04-2012 at 19:20. -
Re: Cass Business School : Applicants and Decisions 2012Don't think so. It's like saying Kings, who's got lectures at LSE can suddenly say that you've been at LSE.(Original post by Ankush92)
Would you say I could be a Cass applicant as half of the course I have applied for is for Cass business school?
Course:- Mathematics and finance

and I doubt they need further maths for this course(since I know people that had maths and got accepted) so hopefully you're right! How long did it take them to reply to your email? cheered me up, thank you
