The 'upper classes' and 'banker class' you mention may have owned the bulk of property there beforehand but they were under no obligation to sell it. If they hadn't sold it (and they were the owners) then they would still have ownership, wouldn't they?(Original post by Organ)

Re: Inner London Is A HellholeHaha, gtfo!! You have NO idea what you're talking about! The ethnic diversity in Vancouver isn't even tantamount to London; that would be Toronto, if anything. Zomgz, without even knowing the country the fact that you'd make this statement makes me want to roll on the floor laughing for years. Vancouver has a place called east hastings, which is arguably one of the poorest and most derelict parts of the western world, period. There is quite a bit of crime that takes place there...but hastings is miniscule, and away from there, Van city couldn't be safer if you left your doors unlocked at night. Vancouver is predominantly oriental, which is what the ethnic diversity is constituted in. Please stop extracting stats without context and making baseless grand generalisations.(Original post by PendulumBoB)

The only good news is that it has dropped recently (but even so is still high.)
That said, I agree that elephant and castle is rather grim. But contrary to what all the petty racists on here are saying, I think it's grim because of the poverty, not ethnic minorities. Actually, I find most of the places in central quite grim, even the ones that are predominantly white. It's grimness all around. -

There's some really beautiful areas in inner London. Try standing outside Liverpool Street Station at night and saying that.
Middle of the Millennium Bridge is another fave. -

Its got some nice new apartments, they fixed up the pavement and roundabout and there's a modern, spacious tube station. It's got nothing on Peckham, Bow and Upper Edmonton. Looks like what really shocked you was the sight of all those non-whites. Well if that's how you feel then go back to your village. And fyi since when did visiting one part of inner London make you able to generalise about the rest of the place? The South Bank, Chelsea, Belsize Park, Maida Vale, Notting Hill, South Kensington, Islington, Pimlico and St Johns Wood are all nice parts of inner London (zone 2). Camden Town, and London Bridge aren't that bad either. You just saw a less nice area and thought you would blame it on other cultures. The state of an area has nothing to do with the prescence of other cultures. Edgware road has a big middle easter community, Golders Green has a big Jewish community and these are nice areas. Conversely Dagenham and Southwark are mostly white areas and are pretty rubbish.(Original post by TTW)
I'm against multiculturalism. It's destroyed London and made it into a third world hell hole. Every time you hear of a stabbing/shooting in London it's always the same people time and time again. You don't even have to check the description because you always know who does it. -

Non- whites only make up 5% of the population so I'm sure you'll find somewhere nice with people of your preference. 
Hopefully non-whites will continue to increase. We need to become a majority-minority nation I think (which many argue we could be by 2066). -

Hopefully non-whites will continue to increase. We need to become a majority-minority nation I think (which many argue we could be by 2066).. What I meant was the amount of non-white people in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland i.e. the UK. They make about 7% of the UK population, of course it's a lot more in England but I was talking about the UK.
