    Atkins 2012 graduate programme
    Hey

Has anyone else applied for a position on the Atkins grad programme?

I just finished the online assessment and found the verbal to be really difficult. Based the body of text you are given 4 statements and you then have to select which 2 are true. It was quite different from other verbal assessments I have tried. Strangely for an engineering firm the numerical assessment was fairly easy, although I didn't complete it.

Gut instinct is telling me that the verbal will let me down on this occasion. I didn't get anywhere near finished on it and I'm unsure whether I answered all the questions correctly. The verbal went okay, I'm confident that I answered the questions correctly but again didnt get it finished. They were definitely the most time pressurised assessments I have done.

I've applied for the Graduate Scheme and I agree, the verbal reasoning was unusually difficult and the numerical reasoning pretty easy. I got an email a few days after saying I'd passed and I'd hear about the next stage in 3-4 weeks.

Just out of curiosity guys, does their "numerical reasoning" test mean it only has your standard numerical reasoning questions (i.e. interpret tables/graphs/charts of data) or is it a more catch-all test with diagrammatic and pattern questions as well?

The numerical test is just using the information provided in tables and graphs. Its very straightforward.

It was a bit of a weird test, no going forward/back (which was odd when you'd practiced on the CS fast stream tests) and no indication of the question you were on. Got the numerical finished with a minute and a bit to spare, didn't feel like I'd done anywhere near all the questions for verbal though. I'd be pretty happy with my performance based on what you guys are saying about the difficulty of the verbal, except I answered a question at the end and time ran out just as I was hitting the button to submit it! Fingers crossed though

Hey I havent been to an assessment centre but you may find wikijob helpful. It suggests what to expect, such as a technical interview and more tests.

How long did it take you application to get to this stage. I applied and passed the online tests about 2 months ago but still havent heard back. What was your telephone interview like?

I have also been waiting for over a month since passing the tests. They seem quite slow...

Yeah they've been handing out offers for quite a while. If you haven't heard it might be that they're seeing if people accept their offers and if there's any vacancies, so are keeping some apps in suspense.

    Hello

Has anyone applied to the 2012 Geography vacancy in the Water and Environment division? It was posted a lot later than most of the other positions. I'm still waiting to hear back from them after passing the online tests and just wanted to know if they have filled all the places for it yet.

    Thanks
