Re: Tech Society 3.0Gotta say, I really can't find anything worth suggesting in this price range(Original post by ak137)
I summon the mighty Spanish Waffle for some headphone advice
=P
Basically, I want some new headphones, bluetooth ones (wireless obviously lol). Budget = £30 or under. I can stretch to 35 quid but 40 is a bit too far. Also, the headband thingy, must be a proper headband, not one of those flimsy type, which I had before (God, I hated them -.-).
I was thinking this.
Any other suggestions or are those fine?
I can't find any reviews of that manufacturer at any reputable source and can't find anything from more established manufacturers at such a low price range, the cheapest I can find that come well recommended are the Jaybird Sportsband which can be found from around £70. Those ones will do the job well enough, but I wouldn't expect anything particularly groundbreaking from them!

Re: Tech Society 3.0Yeah that's a fair point(Original post by Dez)
Only next to other games consoles. As far as design quality goes, the bar is pretty low in the console market.

Re: Tech Society 3.0Still there:(Original post by Dez)
The tablet itself looks nice. I'm guessing it means the original Microsoft Surface brick is now dead in the water?

Re: Tech Society 3.0
The Surface looks amazing, one of the few things I can see myself using as a primary device that doesn't run OS X. If it's competitively priced then I'll certainly be considering it as a future purchase! It'll have to wait until I've worked my way through my checklist of my planned desktop setup though.
On that note, are there any particularly good deals floating around for 1080p monitors that anyone's aware of? I'm looking for a pair, around the 22" mark, preferably with HDMI input.
Took the plunge and put in my preorder for a Leap today, can't wait for that to launch. -
Re: Tech Society 3.0The BenQ 24" is £115 here: http://www.ebuyer.com/169099-benq-g2...r-9h-l3alb-qbe(Original post by Gofre)

Just put together a rough price for my setup, it's going to cost me about £400 assuming I can sell off my MBP and speakers. I've never been so eager to get back to work

Re: Tech Society 3.0BenQ are pretty reputable. What is this £400 buying exactly?(Original post by Gofre)

I'd be looking to get some secondhand Dell U2311H IPS monitors. They're not LED and don't have an HDMI (but I use an HDMI->DVI cable), but they're simply stunningly well made monitors. You can easily find them for £110-120 all over the place secondhand.Last edited by SMed; 19-06-2012 at 18:18. -

Entry Level Mac Mini (£476)
8GB Crucial RAM (£35)
Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 Speakers x2 (£100)
Onkyo Speaker Amp (£140)
1080p monitors x 2 (£240)
I've got somebody who might be interested in buying my MBP for £500 so that knocks out the first two items and my brother's buying my current iPod dock for £60. Knock off another £20 from Amazon credit and it comes to about £400.Last edited by Gofre; 19-06-2012 at 18:33. -
Re: Tech Society 3.0So no source then ..... well done.(Original post by mangoh)
Use Google
Needless to say, I did use Google prior to posting, but failed to find what prompted you to post "It has better specs by far!"
Good to see that your posts are as useless as ever .... -

A general use pc?
A home entertainment system?
A second pc set up for a study?
(apologies is detailed already in an earlier post) -
Re: Tech Society 3.0Pretty much all of the above. It'll be my primary computer for work and home use, as well as being an entertainment system with the Mac Mini feeding into a USB DAC and then into the amp/speakers.(Original post by H.C. Chinaski)

Someone needs to fire the whole of the Microsoft BrandImagine department.
