Just played with the N7. Very nice. Will order it this time next month as it's pay day today. Tempted to order it now, but I've just booked some gig tickets and bought a Wheel Stand Pro for my 360 wheel. :yep:

"Windows 8 to be released on October 26th"

I tried the consumer preview and I'm torn on whether to upgrade for $40 from windows 7 to 8

Mad, Gofre, Chross, the usual lot what are you doing?
Won't be buying it. I might be able to get it free through MSDNAA, but if not, nope.

It looks awful and I hate the 'metro' thing that everything revolves around

Apologies for the offensive comments, mangoh, I wasn't entirely sober when I had written that post. I do hope you'll accept my apology, I thought the post was within the limits of the banter that was happening. I was wrong, and a blithering idiot to think so.

That said: OUYA's first game's been announced. I hope this doesn't do to Android as a whole what consoles have done to PC's.

    Awesome feeling of the day:

Sneak nice hot coffee into the library
Hide it from view between computers
Hide it too well and forget about it for 25 minutes
Rediscover said coffee out of the blue
    Feel Awesome

    It's Vlad, but I'll accept.

I'll be sticking with 7. 8 does not appeal to me.

Okay - I have a question about the IPAD 3!
I want to know if anyone had suggestions about great apps for entertainment on the ipad?
i.e. apps for watching movies, apps for playing games, apps that will keep me entertained for hours on end.

I just want to know personal preferences so I can try the apps out and see if I like them too.

    Thanks

XBMC is the best media app there is, no competition at all, sadly Apple don't agree so you need to jailbreak to get it, you will never need another media app again though (test it out on your PC first if you want). Not just my opinion, it's the opinion of basically every tech site and HTPC users (as well as many other devices).

Hey, would you be able to message me tell me more about 'XBMC' because YouTube is not a big help right now?

    Hey guys!

I'm building a new desktop atm but its been a while since I've done web development on a PC. Can anyone suggest some programs for:
    - Code editor (e.g. Coda)
    - MySQL manager
    - FTP client

And some alternatives to these mac programs (for windows):
    - Sparrow (Mail)
    - Quicksilver (Launching apps quickly, though I suppose I can use the start menu...)

Would be great if you had some suggestions on useful programs to install too! (I've already got Adobe suite and Microsoft Office)

    Cheers!

Don't know anything about web development so I'll just try help with this part.

Not sure about Sparrow but it's likely that it will be out on windows soon enough (since it was recently acquired by Google).

As for launching apps quickly - I do recommend you get used to utilising the taskbar - pinning tonnes of programs there may seem weird at first but it's so helpful.

Useful programs? Are these useful for general usage or web development? If general usage then:

CCleaner - just cleans temporary files as well as old/broken registry etc.
Rainmeter - customise your desktop background, can get some useful widgets on there and it looks great too
Speccy - check temperatures of multiple components on one software
    Steam - :ahee:
    7zip - archive manager
MalwareBytes Anti-Malware - pretty self explanatory
    Microsoft Security Essentials - again
VLC Player - universal media player

Web dev I use dreamweaver and it has its own built in FTP client so whenever I save it syncs to my site. My friends have used HeidiSQL and say it's quite good and if I want a standard FTP client then I use filezilla

Using the TSR App - Please excuse any typos

Ah. I still have my Dreamweaver CS4 so I think I'll be using that then. I do prefer the simplicity of Coda tho. Might give Notepad++ a try too. I'll take a look at HeidiSQL, thanks.

:unimpressed: Your TSR App signature is very similar to mine.
