I'd take a look at the config of the router. I'd be very, very surprised if that router didn't at least support 802.11G.

Have done, I've got a choice of 54g Auto, 54g Performance, 54g LRS or 802.11b Only.

I'd go 54g auto tbh.

Why do Sky make it so ****ing difficult to do anything?

They provide you with a ****ty 802.11b router, which doesn't cover the house - even when it's right in the middle; don't give you the PPPoA details so you can use your own router (hell, they even put it in the T&Cs that you can't use your own router).

Protip: Don't get Sky broadband.

I'd look to see if there's a way of getting into the router to retrieve those details...

Have done. There's an online tool that didn't work and that's all I could find.

You might be able to telnet into the thing. You can with my crapp3h O2 Wireless Box, which is a rebranded Thomson.

Sagem F@st 2304.

Biggest piece of crap router I've dealt with. And I've had some real **** ones.

Doesn't help that Sky force it upon you either...

Quite. I have the same one. :frown:
That said, I still can't work out where I can assign local ip addresses on my router

Urghghghhhhhhhhhhhh.

I wanted the Air and now I kinda want the Transformer. But I can get a 20% "discount" if I buy the Air this week.

What do?!

Not sure TBH. Transformer looks very nice, although I'm still a bit skeptical of Android as a tablet OS (not that I've used it anywhere near enough to judge).

That said, have you guise seen this article? Very interesting setup, kinda makes me want to try it. :awesome:

You'd be apocalyptically stupid to buy a MacBook Air. :lolwut:

Are you taking a specification:price angle on the matter?

Quick look at Lenovo site leads me to think they're quite unattractive laptops.

Also I think it'd be redundant to get another Windows computer. Hence why I'm mainly considering an Air or Transformer.

You wanted functionality? What can be more functional than a Thinkpad.

Go for the Transformer Prime.

Nope, i use it quite a lot for finding out what is going on in terms of student societies, photography related stuff and for posting a tonne of photos.
I use a chat client for google talk, msn and facebook chat so i dont have to look at the facebook site all day.

I can't get on Gmail/Plus/Docs atm.

On Chrome it simply doesn't load at all.
On Firefox it throws up certificate verification errors :erm:

Any ideas?

If you're on a dynamic IP then forcing a new address might fix it, somehow.
