Then all I can say is find a hardware security pro before starting to worry about encryption. It would suck somewhat if one was able to read out your private key or whatever by monitoring the capacitance over your device. Or were able to leave it in a vulnerable state by powering it off at an inconvenient point. Or not having sufficient randomness (a real problem for embedded systems iirc) leading to a replay attack. You get the idea.

i plan to get a tutor at my university involved, one that I trust, he teaches the forensic computing module on my course.
this wont be marketed to the general consumer for certain.

I should also say, thanks to you, vlad etc for your help :smile:

I'll probably be back in the future looking for suggestions on this, or perhaps progress updates. this summer is going to be spent researching and designing it I think

Whoa, Back off, I appreciate your help but how about trying to be a bit more polite rather than just being outright rude without call? frankly I find your "superior" attitude rather insulting and detrimental to the entire feel of this thread/society.

I don't even own a working iDevice at the moment but I've downloaded it, looks like a great implementation of a great idea, something that seems increasingly rare across all three "major" app stores. In fact thinking about it, I can't remember the last time an app properly caught my imagination, gone are the days where one of the coolest parts of owning my iPod Touch in 2007 was finding apps that did something completely unique. Makes me regret having bought into another two year contract :ashamed2:

On the subject of creative stuff, Adobe have released a free beta of the newest version of Photoshop. Here's a link for anybody who's interested, although it's not letting me download the Mac version because "I don't have permission on this server". Anybody have any idea what could be causing that? There's a free cookie in it for you if you can help me download it or send me the dmg =P

Or just try downloading using a different browser. :smile:

We completely trolled my friends new ipad 3 the first day he got it. He fell asleep so a new passcode was put on. But before that, all the most used contacts had very, very graphic hardcore porn pictures put up. And because it syncs with icloud or whatever, this took effect on his phone too. What's funny is he didn't realise until the next day (he went to sleep and didn't pick it up again until the next day). We then phoned him and was mildly shocked by the contact picture we used. :biggrin:

The screen is glorious, and in our case, to a very graphic extent.

That reminds me of this, old but awesome. Pretty sure the victim eventually took out a restraining order on his roommates because of the crap they put him through.
