I don't know about southampton but last year I didn't get acknowledgements from any of my unis. ;p

I am in the same situation. 13th October and no acknowledgement but apparently they are giving acknowledgements by post in the form of postcards. So I think that will take longer to reach us.

And loads of other people are in the same boat with Soton. A bunch of my friends have applied there and heard nothing.

My friend just got an offer from Southampton but didn't even get an acknowledgement........so they do have it.

I applied for Morse (maths dep.) on 31st October and I got my within hours!

I applied for Biochemistry, I got an offer on friday, but no email or postcard acknowledgement so I guess there's no need for others to worry.

Side question: Anyone know what a "Student ID" is and where can I find it? (Not UCAS number...)

Have you checked any of the correspondence you have had with Southampton? (emails, letters etc.)

They might refer to it there, otherwise contact them and ask (Surrey does this too)

Thanks. In case anyone is having the same problem, I called them up just now and asked them what they meant by student ID. They told me to just leave it blank and they'll fill it in. The key thing is you UCAS number.

You will be given a student ID when/if you get an offer which is different from your UCAS number. I think I was only given mine on my offer letter though so I wouldn't worry.
