I don't know if I'm still considered a "newbie" but I find that I'm not encountering the general animosity that I was when I first joined. Similarly, my points aren't replied to with "shut up you stupid newbie" and I don't get neg rep with coments such as "you're newbie ha ha".

I do my best  .......
I am a newbie  and proud!!

No, in all seriousness, I have been registered here for a little while and so under Mr White's definition I should not be a newbie but I definitely am because of my very low post count. I think that no matter what your post count, you de-newbise by just getting to be known by the more established members, making a few noticed posts and not just lurking around (like me) and making short posts here and there.

i just honestly dont understand how people can register in like january and feburary n have a post count of 2000+

im still classified a New member yet have been using the forum for well over a year and finally registered in september i jsut dont have time to make hundreds of posts a day so i wouldnt say i was all that new despite my branding!

maybe if i started useless posts like the previously mentioned cheese one i would increase my post count n loose my new member status. or maybe i should not worry about it and use the time more constructivly like finishing my chemistry homework
well i've been here for 2 days and i'm not counted as a newie....
yes i agree with you!can u help me with a poem written by carol anne duffy for english literature if you have ever come across this please!

I agree with peagus and Mr Whites definition, its all about the attitude and the duration they have been here. I believe there is many newbies with high post counts so you can't say its anything to do with post count because a lot of members who have been here a while have not got large post counts (like me), but thats not because their new its because, they use the forum in a different way to other high posting memebers. I for one hav been around a while now and use this forum to get information, or to give information (on the most part). While some others use the forum to chat and socialise! It depends on what you want from the forum onto how you use it.

what is the definition of a newbie?
number of posts, the time he/she has been a member or is it their attitude?
i think its just lack of understanding of the site and the people already in it

No worries. When I decide when the next era will begin, you'll officially no longer be a newbie.
