Is this Newcastle resurgence just a fluke?
Are they the traditional premiership established version of the one season hit wonder or are they actually strong this year? There seems to be an element of Portsmouth/Reading from a few years back about their run.

We are infamous for starting a season well and then going steadily downhill till we have fears for our survival...

    This year WILL be different!

No. That IS the beauty of the Premier League hence why it's loved around the globe it's unlike the La Liga which really is a 2 race horse league(Real Madrid & Barcelona) and the rest are just there to be beaten and/or humiliated by Real Or Barca.

They won't be in contention for a top 4 place, but they'll still have a fairly good season I think. Bit like Villa a couple of seasons ago when they finished 6th, they'll be in and around there. I'd say about 6th or 7th they'll finish.

I'm really having to resist the urge to get carried away now. If enough fans start doing that, the expectation of winning games might rise in the players like it has done in the past, then the complacency would creep in and it'd be back to getting beaten by the poor/average teams, and we'll all be hopeless deluded geordies again. Sod that.

Not a fluke to be honest. They are playing well defensively, whether they can keep it up is another issue. Early days.

Just keep taking it one game at a time and see what happens.

Unbeaten run will come to an end though in Manchester without a doubt.

Still have many of our best players such as Santon, Ben Arfa and Marveux to come into the team so I can see a top 6 finish this season at least.

In a few weeks thay have City and United away, then Chelsea at home. I will judge if they are top 4/6 material after those games.

Nah, they're nothing compared to Andy 'chav' Carroll.

Try looking at the table before you say that.

Levante are closer to Madrid and Barca than Newcastle are to United and City.

The irony is that the deluded geordie masses made out that they hated Pardoo, and how he was just Ashley's mouthpiece. They then cried about losing the big lump. Then they went on about how Pardoo wasn't going to spend any money and it was a crime.

Well, the money started off with Abramovich, who spent it on the girls blouse to end all others - and Chelsea aren't looking too clever.

The money went to Dogleash, who spunked it away on Suarez, Carroll, Adam and Downing. One out of four turning out well - that's better than Benitez.

And the money ends up with Newcastle, who don't spend any of it, have a manager and owner the fans hate - yet defy all the odds and are doing as well as they have done for years.
    1. Made out we hated Pardew? I never hated him but I certainly neglected him after CHs sacking, you can't hate him for taking the job. Now I think he's maybe better than CH he's doing fantastic.

    2. We didn't really go on about how Pardew wouldn't spend any money we went on about how Mike Ashley wouldn't spend any money and he didn't really and it was a bit of a crime after he promised us the 35m would be used to invest in our squad.

    3. I don't see where Chelsea come into this. What are you talking about?
