Polls show that in the UK around 35% believe there is a god, around 30% believe in some other spirit or live force, and the remainder are atheists. We're not the most religious country in Europe but we're not the least either.

The atheist/ theist balance in people I know, as well as that in people on TSR, is tipped far more towards the former than any national poll results seem to be.
