    Hi all,

Trawled through Student Room and their doesn't seem to much information on the SDIP so great to find this thread! Looking at some of your posts your applied a while ago, earlier on this year, but I don't the application process will have changed greatly since then. Also anyone else who's applying now (deadline is January 4th 2013), great to hear from you to if you too!

Do you remember whether the online tests are in stages ie verbal, that quantitative? I'm ready to do the verbal test, but I think I could do with a little more practise on the numerical side, wondering if I'll be able to log out and log in an resume the numerical test if I start it today?

Also, jumping ahead a bit, anyone who actually got on the internship, what did you do! And have you gone on to apply for the Fast Stream program? Did you find it beneficial to you, was it what you expected it to be?

Just to reiterate, I'm asking about the Summer Diversity Internship Programme, not the Fast Stream Graduate Programme.

Thanks in advance for your help !!

I'm applying this year people in the Faststream thread don't seem to respond that much to 'anyone know anything about the SDIP?' so I'll try here haha.

I did my tests about five days ago, and I was able to do them seperate. As long as you do them before the deadline, you do not have to take them straight after each other. I found that the verbal test was (imho) harder than the numerical one, even though I did a lot better on the verbal practice tests than on the math practice tests. Tell me how you get on ^^ Hopefully we'll both get through

Thanks for restarting this thread; I was looking for fellow applicants!

I just completed the verbal reasoning practice test and scored 16/32. I answered about 24 of them.

Any idea if this a good score? It feels terrible!

I wish I knew Unlike the faststreamers we don't seem to get any info regarding where we are (like top 45% etc), so we'll just have to see. I scored around the same on my practice though, and then went to take practice test to get my score up. The real deal verbal test in my opinion was harder than the practice, but the real numeral was easier than the practice. Competency questionaire was just outright horrible haha.

Thanks for the info Seentje I'm absolutely dreading the numerical test as I dropped Maths after Y11. May I ask which resources you used to practice for the actual tests?

Does anyone know how long it takes to receive the results of your Competency, Verbal and Numerical Reasoning tests?

I have just completed all three. I was wondering if it's one of those automated 24 hour things or are we in for a long wait?

    Hey guys

I'm also applying this year, I have started my application today and have until 11/11/12 to complete my verbal reasoning test *PANIC*

I have been doing a lot of practice tests online and have been getting an average of 50% right, so not quite ready/comfortable enough to do my test yet.

does anyone know what the minimum requirement is ? the minimum you need to get to pass ?

    Hi all,

Did not see the responses to this thread! Nice to hear from some fellow applicants.

Hi Seentje, I did all three on my tests on Monday. I've done lots of practise for the numerical, as I haven't formally done maths since GCSE level, so I was sort of prepared for that, but still, not sure if I did well enough. I did my best anyhow. Verbal test was okay, I was recommend to anyone that hasn't yet done them to skip answers you're uncertain of, rather than answering! It will affect your accuracy score. How did you find the competency test?

Hi DorianGray, it would be nice to get immediate results, or an indication of how well you did, but you don't. Its been two days so I think I'll try and forget about it for a while and focus on my coursework!

Chanelleisme I wish I knew what they were looking for, I think its a combination of a certain number of questions having been asnwered, and your accuracy, so how many of those you got right (which is why I think it should be called efficiency rather than accuracy scoring).

really not liking this waiting game though ... i log in several times a day to see whether our progress has been updated.

Hi guys I am in the process of applying for this and was wondering what sort of stuff comes up in the competency test? Also is it timed? Can you go back to do it?
    Thanks Anjali xx

There's no limit on the competency test but it happens to take around 30 mins.

It basically asks you to prioritise your skills, abilities and traits against each other numerous times.

Because of the nature of the test, any discrepancies in your answers would be sure to flag up in the end. So it's best to be honest.

I generally said that I'm good at most things, being consistent in what I'm particularly 'good' at.

Then again, we don't find out whether our results were good enough to proceed until December, so idk if this will prove to be a good strategy or not.

    Good luck.

(PS - has anyone received any news?)
