I think Owen would've had the premiership golden boot at least once if not for the injuries/moving to Madrid.

    Ali Dia.
What? Ali Dia reached his potential and then smashed it. I've never seen another player who has ever been able to actually be better than his potential allowed him to be. Even Messi hasn't fulfilled his full potential, whereas Dia more than fulfilled his. In short, Ali Dia is better than Messi.

    Ryan BABEL
    Bobby Zamora
    kEVIN DAVIES
    Andy Carroll
    Shevchenko
    Ballack
    Deco
    Carlo Ancelotti
Shevchenko?! He's won the bloody Ballon'dor!

And Carroll is only 22, I'd hope he hasn't yet reached his potential!

yeah win a flipping Ballon'dor and flop whilst playing abroad.

Through injuries there is a load : Dean Ashton, Dyer, Cisse, Rosicky, Ronaldo, Owen, Saha, Woodgate, King, Anderton.. etc

Makes me sad thinking about the waste of talent through bad luck.

He scored 22 in 76. Not word beating, but probably better than most strikers in the prem. Stop defending your theory, he most certainly reached his potential, it's just that it was before he came to chelsea, bought at his peak, he could only get worse.

And lol at people saying players who are early 20's like Nani and Walcott... FFS, they're still young, years from their anticipated peak, give them a chance.

Best shout on the page is definitely brazillian Ronaldo, epic player, but could have been better.
I don't quite see how Ronaldo could have got better. He started to gain a lot of weight in his very late Madrid days and ended up playing for some of the best teams in the world. Honours: 2 Ballon D'Ors, 3 FIFA Player of the Year awards, FIFA 100 greatest living players, 62 international goals in 97 games, most goals in the WC's ever, World Cup Golden Ball and Shoe, 247 goals in 343 games, 2 WC winner's medals, 2 Copa Americas etc etc The only thing he didn't win was a Champions League medal And the weight started to affect him to the point of no return at the same age Sheva lost his form - 29/30

Well Carroll has about 7/8 left to reach his potential.

As for Shevchenko, he had reached his peak before joining chelsea. I'm not denying he was a flop. But he reached massive heights for AC Milan, was named top 10 player in the world for 6 consecutive years, is Milan's 3rd top scorer ever etc. Not to mention his exploits as a Dynamo player!

I think thats the point. He did all that despite having some pretty bad injuries. Imagine how good he could have been if he had never had a serious injury?

His injuries stole a fair bit of his pace aswell.

Not complicated. He is a winger who has spent much of the last 6 years being played out of position.

    What?

He is a regular starter for one of the best teams in the world, arguably his countries best ever player, and yet you don't think he has reached his potential?

George Best as well maybe? All the players/managers/supporters of that time seem to believe that he had much more to offer and could have been even better. His downward trail in football started when he was only 22 so in theory that was still before his physical peak.
