    Hi,

I have an Iphone 3g, the firmware 05.16.02 and the version is 4.3.5. I wanted to unlock so I could use a tmobile sim. I gave it to a friend to unlock but he says that the firmware is too high to unlock.

Is that true? Is there not any other way to unlock it?

    thanks.

I'm not sure how people unlock iPhones from home, but you can still get it done in-store. Take it into the shop of whichever carrier it's locked into, and they will unlock it for a small fee.

I'll try that out, thank you.

Yes, you need to downgrade to an older version or wait until a release becomes available to unlock your current
