assuming y = x³ − 3x + 1
dy/dx = 3x²-3 =0 at stationary points
so 3x²=3
x=±1
P is (1,-1) Q is (-1,3)
By pythag PQ² = 4²+2²=20
PQ= 2√5
should b) read "Find the length of PQ in the form k √5" ?
