Re: TSR Catholic Society(Original post by The_Lonely_Goatherd)
My rosary bracelet from Fatima had a pendant of Our Lady on it but it fell off some point last year, wouldn't stay on and eventually got lost.
Today, it has mysteriously reappeared, after several months!
Just wanted to share with people who would appreciate how happy I am!
wow,
hope you don't lose it again

Re: TSR Catholic Society(Original post by The_Lonely_Goatherd)

That's cool! Mine went missing last year too, then the cross vanished. And now I'm not sure where the bracelet is at all...(Original post by The_Lonely_Goatherd)

Re: TSR Catholic Society
Is there a specific teaching in the catholic church about feeling lost and losing your path in life. At the moment, I really feel very lost and alone and unsure about the path I am taking. What does the bible say and are there any particular references (or advice) which you would suggest?

Re: TSR Catholic SocietyPrayer said for him(Original post by Matthew_Lowson)
Hi everyone, been home a few days now, tiring but enjoyed every second as always.
Would appreciate a few prayers for my brother who's got an interview today and tomorrow.
Welcome back!
I'm afraid I don't read my Bible enough to offer you advice regarding Scriptural passages that might help you(Original post by MTR_10)

When in doubt though, I always go by the WWJD method: "What would Jesus do?"
Perhaps if we know what exactly you're struggling with, we will be in more of a position to offer advice?

Re: TSR Catholic Society(Original post by Aula)
Not finished yet. Still here until the 19th!
And none really. Probably going to Wales with the family, but I think I need to have an awkward conversation with them first. Might try and get a job over the summer or something. Still thinking things through a bit atm.
hope it goes well!(Original post by The_Lonely_Goatherd)
Ah OK! Well I hope you enjoy the last 10 days of what I'm sure has been a great year!
Is the awkward conversation related to the big thing we are meant to be praying about?
I hate awkward conversations. Praying it goes well for you

Alas, I must stay at home and write my dissertation though
I'm not too sure what I think about it, tbh. Does the government consultation about gay marriage not cover Scotland too? In which case, I don't entirely see the need for a referendum?(Original post by barnetlad)
What are other people's views on Cardinal O'Brien's call for a referendum in Scotland on gay marriage proposals?

Bon courage! didn't you just graduateSounds very interesting

i suppose not that many people heard about the consultation, the referendum thing was on the news on radio 2 this morning and i don't think (but i have a bad memory) that the consultation got that much coverage.I'm not too sure what I think about it, tbh. Does the government consultation about gay marriage not cover Scotland too? In which case, I don't entirely see the need for a referendum?
I feel a bit
about the £100,000 campaign though. people are saying how "awful is that think how many people that could feed", but you could say that about any non-vital to survival investment like the olympic opening ceremony, or whatever.
I was just reading this
http://www.conversiondiary.com/2012/...ay-friend.html
last night i had a rosary next to me while sleeping (don't know if that constitutes treating sacramentals respectfully
) and i had often thought the plastic was a bit strange since i got it as a gift from the Parish after 1stHC (7 years ago!). i woke up and noticed it was glow in the dark!

On Sunday I told a few family (together) that if i didn't get a place at uni I'd like to do a gap year with CAFOD. My grandma said "but you've got more to offer than helping people"
What!

Re: TSR Catholic Society

You're welcomethankyou.
I just graduated from my undergraduate institution. I'm now doing a postgrad course elsewhere, the dissertation for which is due on 30th August.Bon courage! didn't you just graduate
Tbh, I do see where those people are coming from when they say that. £100,000 is a sizeable amount of money. I don't think a campaign is particularly necessary either. All the information that would come from a campaign, could easily come from priests through their sermonsi suppose not that many people heard about the consultation, the referendum thing was on the news on radio 2 this morning and i don't think (but i have a bad memory) that the consultation got that much coverage.

Have you read some of the comments on that blog entry? There are some strange people in the world
You lucky thing! I want a glow-in-the-dark rosary but haven't managed to find one yetlast night i had a rosary next to me while sleeping (don't know if that constitutes treating sacramentals respectfully
) and i had often thought the plastic was a bit strange since i got it as a gift from the Parish after 1stHC (7 years ago!). i woke up and noticed it was glow in the dark!

My mum sleeps with a rosary under her pillow. When my mental health is playing up, she tucks me up in her bed and presses the rosary against my head
Gap year with CAFOD would be amazing! On Sunday I told a few family (together) that if i didn't get a place at uni I'd like to do a gap year with CAFOD. My grandma said "but you've got more to offer than helping people"
What!
There is no greater joy that in servitude, imho
