Re: Medicine RejectionsAwesome, that'll hopefully work to my advantage(Original post by Democracy)
If you're a graduate applying to A100/A101 then yes, and as yet it is unknown.
If you're a school leaver, then no, you need 600 or above and then they consider your UCAS tariff. -
Re: Medicine RejectionsDid you apply this year?(Original post by Tench)
Awesome, that'll hopefully work to my advantage -
Re: Medicine RejectionsYeah, school leaver(Original post by ViceVersa)
Did you apply this year?
Has the system changed or something?Last edited by Tench; 13-11-2011 at 00:15. -
Re: Medicine RejectionsNope, wats different exactly?(Original post by ViceVersa)
Yeah it has. Did you not know before you applied to barts and the london? -
Re: Medicine RejectionsWhat's different is that you have to have a score of 600 to be considered. A candidate with 750 has no advantage over another with exactly 600. Then your UCAS tariff scores are considered, that's tariff scores for everything. So it includes critical thinking, general studies, music grades stuff and extended project. So its about what your points would be by the end of year 13. So someone with AAAb would have a score of 410. This means that you are at an advantage if you take more A levels =, or do more stuff like the EPQ and general studies, because even if you get a D its still 40 points towards your overall score. It does also mean that IB applicants are are a slightly higher advantage. You can find out what your tariff score if by going on UCAS and checking their tariff tables(Original post by Tench)

Re: Medicine Rejections
Could you guys tell me how you have such high UCAS tarriff points !
I mean I have A*A*AA predictions making 520 and then + 60 (dropped AS) = 580 points altogether which isn't v. much compared to you guys!
I'm guessing you guys have A*A*A*A* + music/sports awards or something?
-
Re: Medicine RejectionsLol okay so I have A*A*A predictions, an A and a B at AS level, and then an A* prediction in my EPQ. That makes 580, and then I have 20 ucas points for a BTEC certicicate in workskills for edexcel which makes 600 and then 30 for a childcare level qualification level 3 and another 20 ucas points for level 2. That makes 650(Original post by Cleoleo)
